Groups I Belong ToCouch Information
Couch Available: Maybe Preferred Gender: Any Max Surfers Per Night: 1
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: YesI have 1 room with a bed and a couch and such. You will be sharing the room with me, but it is quite big, you will fit in :) I'm living for a while now in the most beautiful city in the Netherlands (i.m.h.o): Utrecht. In my time here I slowly got to know more and more about Utrecht and its great inhabitants.
If you want to join me in my city explorations, or just need a place to crash, let's see if we can work something out. In my room in Lunetten (15 minutes by bike/bus from the city center)I have a couch available, but it is too small to sleep on so I also have a spare mattress for you :)
Depending on my work I can most likely not host you during the week, weekends should be fine when I'm around.
Also, if you just want to hang out the city, let me know and I will be there if I can. And check out all the nice meetings going on in the city!

Personal DescriptionDiscovering cultures as well as countries, that is my passion. I like to think that I am an open and friendly person with whom one can have a good conversation and a laugh.
The world is full with friendly people with interesting stories to tell and experiences to share, and I want to try to meet as many of them as possible. How I Participate in CSHere you can find the links to the Photos I made during a few of the recent
CS Utrecht Events
Halloween party 2008
The couchsurf community in Utrecht is a really active group, with many people regularly going to great and creative meetings, as well as many travelers who come and see what Utrecht has to offer. I try to come up with good plans for new meetings, I usually go to the monthly meetings, I show new people around, and I try to be the photographer on big CS events in Utrecht.CouchSurfing ExperienceUntil a short while ago, I lived my life without even knowing of the existence of Couch Surfing. In the short period that I am a member, I have already met so many wonderful people. In Utrecht, where I live, but also in Budapest,Valencia, Madrid, Berlin, Krakow, Kiev, etc.InterestsTraveling [no, really?]
Photography [travel photography, old and broken things, and occasionally people]
Spanish [studying this beautiful language for two years now]
+ Making Shortmovies + Scouting + Reading + Organizing and participating in CS eventsMusic, Movies, BooksFor books, this changes with what I'm reading, currently a history/novel about Dublin, a fantasy book about some weird inventor, Harry Potter 4 in Spanish and a book about Business intelligence.
For films, I'm most interested in the off-mainstream movies.
For music, I like a lot, but mostly in the ska-punk-rock direction.Teach, Learn, ShareFor anyone interested, I could explain a thing or two about photography and about living and traveling in Mexico.
The list of things I would like to learn is much longer. I am studying Spanish, so anyone who can teach me something about that would make me happy.
In the slightly unlikely and far away event of me finally mastering Spanish, I'd also like to learn more languages (Russian, Japanese, French, Portuguese), because speaking new languages opens so many doors.
And if they ever invent a medicine to improve my seriously problematic musicality, I would like to learn to play the piano some day. From Paweł Pawiński Wroclaw, Poland Oct 28, 2009 Positive Tim's anise (?) sweets made me feel fantastic, superb and powerful. Needles to say that it was great and important experience for me.
HA HA HA
and he's a great mate by the way
From Tom Wisdom Bloomington, United States Aug 2, 2009 Positive Tim was happy to help make my time in Utrecht a nice little chill-out session. We spent a lot of time walking around town, picnicking and talking in the park, drinking toasts with random Miffy worshippers, etc. He's an interesting and agreeable guy, and he knows the difference between a rabbit and a hare.
From Tytus Bierwiaczonek Krakow, Poland Jul 24, 2009 Positive Tim is a patient and easy-going person. Great company for parties, meetings and any kind of events.
From Eugen Ruzicky Bratislava, Slovakia Jul 8, 2009 Positive Tim has been a very nice guest. I was expecting him to stay longer, but we have had good time together with my 2other estonian friends and than a friend of mine.
Tim seems exactly how i expect a guy from Netherlands to be - very polite, straightforward, honest, friendly with a good sense of humor. I soppose it's my stereotype but Tim definitely was a great guest and i am glad i could host him. I hope you liked time in Bratislava, the cottage and simply overall experience was good - because i was kind of tired and i felt i wasn't as committed to hosting as i would normally be. Thanks for a present and i really appreciate that you helped Doris and gave her a ride in the morning. Was very nice of you...
Take care and best of luck in Ultrech with work, hosting and girls ;-)
From Thomas Paschke Paderborn, Germany Jun 21, 2009 Positive What shall I say? Simply great. Welcomed me with some dinner (sorry for being late - traffic jam on the way), took & guided be to the CS Midsummer Event and Utrecht itself. Hosted me, gave me a tour through Utrecht - even though he was involved in the midsummer event.
He is a very kind, friendly and open person - someone you definitely like to have around. And Tim: Don't buy a second bike - having a lift on your carrier is great - and belongs to a stay in Utrecht :)
From Oli Hutchinson Cardiff, United Kingdom Jun 16, 2009 Positive Tim was a really great host. My train trip to Utecht was a bit of a nightmare due to my complete lack of common sense and i ended up finally finding him after many wrong trains lol. He showed me around his city (which i still cant pronounce) and it was a shame i didnt spend more time there. Then he gave me a lift through the "scenic" route (: P)over into the boarder of Germany. Thanks very much, and cheers for the Munster recommendation : D
Take care,
Oli
From VATO_LOCO Arnhem, Netherlands Apr 16, 2009 Positive Tim is was a lovely guest of the beach chill out at Scheveningen. He is straight forward, informative, and insightful. The best kind. Until the next time again!
From Isa McKechnie Utrecht, Netherlands Feb 13, 2009 Positive Tim is one of those people that stands out in a crowd and I've thought at a number of gatherings, "hey, I'd like to talk to him more", as I somehow sense that we'll connect well on several levels. He is fun at parties, which is how I know him, but he appears as very interesting on an individual level too. I'm sure I'll see more of him!
From GRANDBLEU Warsaw, Poland Feb 8, 2009 Positive Tim:-)
Very positive, smiley and warm person.
He`s probably been to more places in Poland than I was and seems to like the country very much..
But whats interesting, even if he travels he still can`t live without Dutch pancakes - thats for sure!;)
I`m also certain that he regrets some things he could not see this time - like the first McDonalds that was opened in Poland (shame on you!!!;-))
He`s got the special sarcastic kind of sense of humor I like and as soon as he finds a good target he banters a lot:)
Best wishes Timku!
Ewa
From Agata Bartkowska Eindhoven, Netherlands Feb 8, 2009 Positive Tim is such a great guy! You can't stop laughing with him! He's got fantastic sense of humor! I really regret you had to leave Warsaw so soon after we met!
From Bruna Padilha de Oliveira Londrina, Brazil Feb 7, 2009 Positive Tim hosted me on my first visit to Utrecht .. After the CS meeting, we went to dance with another some Csers to some Club of Utrecht (which most I don't know where), but it was fun .. At the end of the night, already tired .. He tried (without much success) to take me in the back of his bike .. He had to stop several times at my request .. but he has not lost the humor .. I had a great sleep in your place and the next morning we had breakfast together and went to the center of Utrecht.. What I can say is that Tim is really patient and friendly guy :) Thank you for making this wonderful time in Utrecht possible!!
From Juky Brno, Czech Republic Feb 6, 2009 Positive Short time spent together but enough to guess that Tim is a great host, at least able to prepare some milkshake early morning to give me enough energy to go on with my trip.
He spent time to have a chat at night after his long working day where as he was quite tired.
Well organised is also one of his inherent attributes for sure!
From Moreyba Santana Los Llanos de Aridane, Spain Jan 8, 2009 Positive Even if the mini party Tim organised was really "mini", we spent a very good time in a cold rainy night in La Palma. Tim and his brother Peter are so kind and nice people. I enjoyed very much the time we spent together.

He was the "tourist" and kept on taking pictures of all the people (he is a professional, by the way) and then out of a sudden he and the Inspector Leclou invited me to a little...interview. They found about my secret being Mr. X.
And I really want to see the pictures!

From Francine Aarts Utrecht, Netherlands Sep 1, 2008 Positive Tim is a cool guy: enthusiastic and relaxed at the same time, and a nice person to be around.

From Joanna Zielińska Bialystok, Poland Aug 9, 2008 Positive My time with Tim and his brother Peter was really delightful, as delightful as a car which they left me (the little toy, named "delightful van", which as I suppose they play as a little kids). Our interests seem to be completely different but it doesn't stop us to have really interesting and fun conversations:) so I can say that Tim is very open-minded person, very cheerful, with great smile and good attitude to life. I hope that this van, which you left me, will bring me sometime to Utrecht guys:)
