Couch Information
Couch Available: Yes Preferred Gender: Any Max Surfers Per Night: 3
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: No
Your sleeping room is my living room. All yours... (There is also a small futon for 2!) NOTE: The number for the EMERGENCY COUCH in Bamberg is +49 173 674 100eight! (To avoid that you sleep under a tree!) :)

About good requests:
1) I am not strict but I prefer people with a complete profile (if you haven't signed up the same day). Completing your profile will take you about 30 minutes. I think the community can require you to do some efforts. Many active members don't even answer to requests with empty profiles.
2) it is essential that you are writing a personal request. Describe your trip and try to create a connection between you and the prospective host. Thats the only magic to make a good guest! When I request people, I try to write as much, good and personal as possible. ) I can actually recommend every Bamberger in my friendlist. So feel free to check my friends profiles to see if they are available in Bamberg!
Well, another thing I like to learn from you is your way of cooking. Simply great, if we have the time to enjoy a meal (of your country)? And I am eager to learn or practice foreign languages, like here!
PLEASE read the following, because I really appreciate it when people take the TIME to read what I've taken the time to write here :)
Note: Please bring a picture postcard from your town for my CS promotion board (and note that in your request, so I know you read my profile)!
COUCH My couch is nice enough to sleep on it for TWO nights and there is also a bed for guests available (bring a sleeping bag, pls!) and I don't smoke (actually this is a NO smoking flat!)! Note: My couch and home is in a small and cute village, about 11km east of Bamberg. There is an occasional bus transportation available, though not on weekends. If you have a car, or hitchhike you are good to go. (And of course I will pick you up and bring you downtown or to the train station!)
I like to go out in the evenings and have some drinks but I can also manage a good movie on TV. Public transportation is easy to reach from my place (though only on weekdays!), I can show people around in the city (maybe taste a deep sip of our LOCAL beer (note below)- and actually I am city guide), I like to go to bed until 11 pm if possible (hehe), it doesn't make any difference if you visit me on weekdays or on weekends (more time for you during the week though!) and for emergencies, I have some blankets available. :) There is also free internet and WiFi!
And (only!!) if you insist, I can take you to one of the nice Saunas we have here, if you like to. But maybe read also, how the Finnish recommend their Sauna. ;)
BAMBERG I live by myself in a small village east of Bamberg (note our 'special' old townhall below), a beautiful city UNESCO world heritage in the northern part of Bavaria, named Franconia. There is a lot to see here and actually - here is the home of good beer: Look at Beer City Bamberg! And check also current events...
Our cathedral is 1000+ years old. But if you read here, you realize that it takes weeks just to explore this monument! (And this only one of the numerous gems we have here!)
AND - if Bamberg is on your agenda, check out our Wiki and look if there may be a meeting coming up at the CouchSurfing group Bamberg!
Since 2008 I now live in my new home (near Bamberg), in a lovely region named Fränkische Toskana (Franc. Tuscany). (Note photos in my album at Kremmeldorf!)
Unless you come cycling:
~ Bike Friendly Couch ~
Well, and now that you are so far reading this, why don't you just drop me a line if you like my profile - or even better VISIT ME! PLUS: It will be a real winner, if you manage to address me with my REAL first name! :)
Oh, attention MEN: You will need to SIT on my toilet! ;-)
And sorry - 'copy & paste' Couch Requests will be IGNORED!
Or, as nerds say: RTFM! :)
This is something special, either for surfing or hosting; CouchSurfing in a rural area. Check THIS and join! :)

Like some general info on where to go in Europe...
For your trip, here is my advice: If you are new - read THIS!
Accommodation - CS, what else??
(Very important: NEVER consider hotel/hostels again!) - check HERE!
And about transportation - look here for Budget flights, Eurail and for German trains ...
For cycling info check Biketrip.org and German cycling experience.
And this is mandatory for Hitchhiking!
And if you like my city info on the left, you are most welcome! Just send me a message (better couch request) - so I know if and when you're coming! :)

What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (268)261Positive 7Neutral 0Negative
