Although I understand that it is very hard to find a couch in Amsterdam, I prefer to host people that want to visit UTRECHT, NOT AMSTERDAM.

I have a tiny study where you can sleep. The big 2-person airbed just fits on the floor in there. I can also make a 1 person bed out of pillows, and I have a self-inflatable mattress. So basically, you don't need to bring any bed things :)

I have tons of blankets and pillows, so you won't have to take those with you!

I live in a little house in the Neighbourhood 'Oog in Al'.
You can reach the center by bus and bike in 10-15 mins. Utrecht is a nice city, and it's in the middle of the country, so everything is close by.

I can be quite busy, but if I have time I'd love to show you around Utrecht or the countryside.

I have a cat, she's very sweet but a bit shy. My house is non-smoking, but I have a garden you can use.

Personal Description

I'm in between things right now.. I did research and editing work and decided I don't want to do this anymore, but I don't know what I'll do next. Recently I did some work as a volunteer on farms and loved that a lot.. who knows, I might turn into a farm girl :)
I'm a very enthousiastic person and I love to meet new people and have fun.
I talk a lot, I can be bad at concentrating and can be a bit impatient, but at the same time I love to listen to you if you want to air your feelings.

How I Participate in CS

I love to be host to people and show them around and have a good time. It's a bit like traveling in your own country. I do have to find the time for hosting though. With a busy life it's not always convenient.

I do little and big trips myself every now and then, and couchsurfing, together with hitch-hiking, are a great way to do it!

I used to be quite active with organizing stuff in Utrecht with the other Utrecht couchsurfers. Now it has become less and I just come to some meetings every now and then.

Because I get quite a lot of couch requests, I got a bit more critical when it comes to replying to them. This is why you find some urgent messages between ******** in my couch info.

Music: I have a very wide taste in music, from friendly easy stuff like Feist, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones etc to alternative music like Radiohead, Bjork, Smashing Pumpkins, and the rougher stuff: Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein. And then also some 60s&70s heroes, flamenco, other world music, old-fashioned jazz and danceable stuff like drum&bass and other groovy music. Since my taste is so wide, my collection is big, but far from complete :)
Movies: everything by Pixar, Lars von Trier, Coen Brothers, Tim Burton, Office Space, Monty Python, ... I can keep going for some time here.
Books: Anything that's a good read and can be called literature.

I saw Sanne three times. The first time I saw her at Midsummer Night's event, she was one of the cooks and announced the dinner time and gave thanks to all the cooks. Second time I met her at the showing of the movie Warrior of Love, which is about what her boyfriend experienced, while joining the peace-circus in the Middle East. The third time I met her at her boyfriend's place at a summer (garden) party with bbq. Her boyfriend and her hosted me. They are really nice hosts. It felt really nice to be with them. They are nice and friendly people. I hope to see more of her and her boyfriend in the future. I hope we can be real friends.

I was looking after Sanne's cat+house+tomatoplants while she was in France. Also a few nights Marc (bf) crashed at her place: very inspiring + fun to talk with him!
Thanks again for letting me stay in your house: lovely place in a lovely surrounding (how much I love the slow boats steaming by on the canal).

When Sann decide to join a meeting. She does absolutely everything to be at time at the meeting point. If she joins one of your meeting you can be sure, She will be there. She joined my group by hitchhiking.
We traveled together for a few days in the alps.
She is a very organize woman. i will never forget the herbes de provence inside your backback. it's Just a perfect idea...

Sanne is a great hitchiker, backpacker and wanderer, very flexible with dates and joining people to travel with. She likes to be fit, doing yoga, some sports around the nature (what we did together during a few days). She knows a lot about Iceland too! I am looking forward to see you on another trip ;)
