Shilp is rad bloke from all angles - balanced, educated, traveled, sensible, witty, (uglier than me), (shorter hair than me) etc... Jokes apart a very welcome, warm, and contributing presence. Please excuse his grumpiness for he has a baby elephant in his stomach; though species of his kind have the longest gestation period, it does end eventually!

Thanks Shilp for organising such a wonderful CS meet last week. Never thought you can gather such a large gathering in the middle of a week! Since I am new to CS, it was a great chance for me to meet so many CS face to face. My wishes got fulfilled :)

It was our pleasure in Delhi to have Shilp with us. He inspired us to coffee and then onto to higher places like a rooftop paradise up a ladder. He's a great guy, full of fun and imagination.

Ok, I've finally decided to add this pfffffer to my list of friends..
Got to admit I even quite like him, go figure out why, I got no idea!!!
But he can be so endearing and sweet and even smart(when he agrees to get off his goofy cape)
Met Shilp in the flesh(after months of chatting) at a CS meeting in NL, then we surfed Esther's couch. Was great to finally spend time irl together and learning bit more about Indian culture and especially music.
He tried fooling me by being extremely nice, but I know better haha...
And he gave me the cutest ciggie box I will cherish forever...

Shilpffffer and me pfffffinally met at th pffffvalentines party in Dordrecht affffter we've been chatting on CS for quite some time. Shilpffff is pfffffunnny, ppfffffreindly and pfffabulous! We will surely meet again!

It was great to travel, coach and surf with Shilp!. Funny, interesting, a great chef (...but careful with the spices)and if you need some help, be sure that he will be there!. An excellent person...and a great dancer too.

Shilpy's a great great big lovable huggable teddy bear, with a huge heart..and an adorable accent!. We greeted each other as though we had known each other forever and were old friends- with a great big hug! Just like everyone else i luuuuuv Shilp!! I don't remember one minute of being uncomfortable with him or even a minute without laughing and sharing funny stories.
He's a true gentleman!

We walked around all of Madrid - stuffing ourselves with tapas and cañas, taking pictures in shiny x-mas hats and of course my good deed was done mwwahahah!!! THE spankings pictures were took, they are worth a million bucks!

Hoping to get hosted some time soon in the low-lands or getting chopped up into a million pieces and put in his suitcase when he goes to India!

Shiiillppiieee! First we met at some CS meeting in The Hague for like 5 seconds! Then we kept on meeting in the chatroom and finally I got to see this hottie in Rotterdam again! Then he surfed my place last weekend and he was the only one who slept well! ;-) Just kidding, Shilp is an amazing person, a good friend with some great sense of humor.

Come visit me soon again, your beer is missing you!

Shilp is the kind of person who makes meetings funnier. I'm looking forward to meet him again.

 

Just like everyone else i luuuuuv Shilp. I mean...honestly...find something about him that isn't likable. He is just the most huggable guy on earth..uhm...and Jupiter...and my planet;)

I finally got to meet Shilp when I traveled to the Netherlands! And he was even nicer than he is in chat! (He didn't spank me in real life.) My host in Amsterdam was busy one evening and Shilp invited me to come to The Hague to meet other CSers. I spent most of the evening looking and waiting just for Shilp to show up (but I did quite enjoy the company of the CSers I met!) When he finally came in, it was like meeting up with an old friend.

After a late night in the bar, followed by some late food nearby, and then a bus ride full of drunken Dutchmen (who got kicked off the bus!), it was pleasant to arrive at Shilp's place and his hospitality. Don't let his chat persona fool you. He is really a nice guy. :p

Princess!!! I love this princess!!! His poshness is 2nd to none!!! :D Shilp is a huge teddy bear with a huge heart and has cute accent when he speaks English. He drove us fearlessly in crowded Delhi streets to show us around everywhere, introduced us the posh districts, Inditalian/Indexican restaurants and endured my endless abuse throughout our trip to Agra to see Taj Mahal. Thank you for all you've done, I miss you princess, and hope to meet you again soon!!!

 

Just realized that Shilp and I have a very good friend in common. Hope to know him much better now! From last party's passing meeting he appeared to be a chilled out, interesting guy. Wish we could spend more time together. Soon mate!

We somehow always floated around the apartment with no discomfort....a highly reccomended company...

shilp fed me a nice breakfast every day and introduced me to some of his friends. hes a laid back kind of guy and is a good person to go out to eat with. he took me to a party at his apartment complex that was latin themed (he lovvvvves latin culture, food, and women lol~), and i got to sample some delicious tapas after being deprived for months living in germany. the food was prima!
all in all shilp is a good candidate to stay with or ask questions to about the netherlands or india when he is in either place.

I met Shilp at my first CS meeting. He's cool, can talk on any topic, very passionate about his career in international water management, on which he is doing a Phd, so soon we'll call him Dr Shilp ! I gave him a tip about a common habit ( we share the same brand too ), hope he has tried it, haha !!
It was grt of him coming all the way to Ahmedabad from Anand on a rainy day & driving back late night; just for the International CS day gathering. I later realised he's an very active member of CS whn i saw his profile. Grt to know u Shilp !!

 

Ohh, he is such a nice & calm guy with lots of enthusiasm about CS. He helped me a lot for arranging a CS meet for Internatioanl CouchSurfing day. He is really very very helpful, he tried with all his efforts for making our CS meet a success & it happend :)

We together enjoyed Rajasthani folk dance & had a nice dinner too. Learned a little bit about water resource management.

Can you imagine making a bet over blowing a plastic cup to the ground? Weeeeeell me and Shilp did!! :) So you can see how crazy this guy is!! But beside his crazyness i found a really nice, sweet and easygoing person and most of all really interested about the CS community!! And a great person to chat too!! Even though he forced me to drink a wine cup in one zip we still managed to have a really interesting conversation!! :)

Shilp was the first CSer to send me a welcome message, and he was as kind to meet me for coffee right after that. Ever since I've been very happy talking to him at CS meetings; he's smiling, considerate, and not to forget: he succesfully put Delft on the CS map!! Have a great time in India, and see you again soon in NL! :)

It is always good to know people like Shilp.. You always have a feeling that you are sorrounded by some nicest people on earth.
Hope to meet him again during our Chaddicts Leh Road trip.

 

I met Shilp - thanks to my friend Anita - for dinner/lunch/coffee and we had some nice talks about lots of topics, but I still feel that there are a lot more things I wanna talk with him about :-) So, we just have to meet again - either in India, Netherlands or Austria or somewhere in between :-)

Update: he hosted me for one night in Delft and it was a very good experience. Hope to meet soon again ;)

one year after our first meeting, he came back to vienna again (and cooked delicious lunch for me and a friend ;-)) i just can recomment anyone to meet him ! and i hope to see him soon in india .....

i saw that shilp was in vienna and wanted to envite him for dinner with my other guests, but because of his limited time we just could meet for a coffee. he is an experienced traveller, very nice and open mindet person. too bad that he just where so short time in vienna. hope to see him again when i travel to india ! and of course, when he come back to vienna , he is welcome any time at my home.

 

Yeah, time was short and the meeting was randomly organised but we exchanged some wisdom on PhD stuff, hehehe. Veel success en tot ziens!

It was a nice experience to meet Shilp in Delft (almost first couchsurfing experience)but unfortunately had a short time...such a nice guy he is ...I hope to meet him again and we will share more interesting talks and experiences...

We had known each other for sometime by the time we met and he has proven himself to be an incredible friend who will happily drive you nuts and see you tear your hair out at one point though be there for you when you need it most...a great guy he is hilarious, great sense of humor and for someone like me who talks a lot, he has the endless ear looking out to catch me when i go wrong with great glee...Sporting, easy going and intelligent, he is excellent company and fun to travel with...Highly recommended and someone who is softspoken to start with but once he gets going youre guaranteed to have an awesome time. ...btw..he SNORESSSSSS

Shilp was the first person I hosted & it was a very nice experience. He speaks less, observes more & concludes perfect! A very nice person & a far better freind

There are no words in any language to describe him in any language.No words can decribe how great he is except in playing pool-just kidding. I surfed his couch in his lovely village (btw he calls it a TOWN) Delft. He makes me feel comfortable from the first minute as I met him. And you surely won´t get bored with him being around…he´s simply a lovely guy. A sort of humans who you can trust 100% and it is hard not to like him. He is born to be a tourguide. We went to a lovely church in Delft, which has a 100 m high tower, it was cool although I'm a bit scared of high places :) but you don´t need to worry when Shilp is around because he will forced you to look down ;) and you will loose your acrophobia (vertigo ;). And he introduced me to his crazy friends and I got to know Belgian beer. He makes a good job as babysitter when you will get pissed;) so you don´t need to worry because he takes care of you.
He gets my gold metal for hosting .Looking forward to see him again. Thank you very much for all your help and the splendid time with you and your friends. I simply like this awesome guy. See you and take care sweetie.Oh and he is always up for a meal so make sure that you´ll loose some kilos before you are going to meet him *LOL*.

Shilp is a very nice guy, very positive and hospitable. He helped Martin and me alot, introduced us to his friends and made some deliiiiiiicious Indian food for us. It was a perfect stay - if you ever have the chance to meet Shilp, do so!!! Thanks for everything, and visit me in Dresden!

He looks really calm and nice person and he's a really good host, full of attention!!! We have a drink in Delft (known for it great nght life!!;o))then play poker to his place until my first morning train arrive!!

I joined for beer & cake at his place and enjoyed his peace & philosophical conversations. He has very interesting views on being selfish. Definitively get to know him if you have a chance!

Shilp is amazing, but it's hard to decide which things about my stay with him I liked the best...was it the curry? the drunken bike ride where I was NEVER in danger of falling off? the rain? the terrible cakes? the laziness and sleeping all day with a terrible hangover(oh wait, that was me)...? Or was it the AWESOME 40's themed party that we went to? All, in all....SHilp is the only one who could make the small town of Delft so exciting AND be so nice to his guests (even when they are awful, like me..hehe). =)

I stayed over at Shilp for three days and have no words to express his kindness and generosity. It would require too much space here to go into details, but I can say that he was taking care of me as if I was his little sister. That tells everything. Thank you for ever my brother. I miss you.

It was really sweet of Shilp to take out time from his Master’s thesis preparation to show his city of Delft. Shilp and his friends made my short stay in Delft pleasurable which would otherwise have been quite boring considering that Delft doesn’t have much to offer as such. Biked and walked around, saw the sights, had some yummy lunch and coffee. A short yet pleasurable stay! Hope to meet you again someday!

I met Shilp in a nice Jazz location in Vienna. I had a confused but good day and his reaction on my mood was nice. My impression of Shilp is : open-minded, humorous, fascinated of philosophy and astronomy and in the best way a combination of both.
I look forward to eating an Indish dish cooked by himself :)
