Groups I Belong ToCouch Information
No couch currently available for surfing. I am currently moving to The Hague! Hope to be able to host you there soon...
My town is Culemborg which is just south of Utrecht (14mins train). I live next to the trainstation, with all major cities in reach.
I can offer you a mattress, pillow and sheets and my computerroom to sleep in. Normally I work during officehours, but for evenings/weekends I'll be happy to show you around.
And: As I love live music, art, performances just ask me if you want to enjoy some cool stuff in The Netherlands and probably I can give you some advice - and maybe join you!
Let CS be what it should be - a community where humans spend time with eachother, not only for a free bed&breakfast -> put some effort in a personalized request!

Personal Description
Can anybody lend me some extra hours a day? Even half an hour would be appreciated ;). I just love so many things it gets difficult to find spare time for everything: travelling around the world (and planning and dreaming about it is maybe even nicer!), going to the gym for a refreshing work-out, meeting new people, writing poems, driving offroad-motorbike… it’s not even half of the things I like, but don’t want to bore you with a never-ending list :P.
Me in some keywords: creative, extroverted, easy in use, I love music/concerts/festivals, tasting foreign food, photography, art & musea, and always ready to experience nightlife.
It is for me an honour to meet/host you…let us turn the individual society and come together again!

From Bjarnheiður Kristinsdóttir Reykjavik, Iceland Oct 22 Positive I was so happy to host Tim in Reykjavík that words can't describe it. And my flatmates' experience was the same. We all would have loved to have more time together playing cards and board games into the nights, listening to music, chatting and speculating about travels, life, the universe and everything. Tim is such an embracing and loving person! If I knew the words to describe him better... you can imagine that they all are very very very positive :) Tim altijd welcom, we kijken ernaar uit u te ontmoeten weer!
From A.RAWLINGS Toronto, Canada Oct 22 Positive Tim is one of the most remarkable people I've met. Lovely, open, honest, earnest, enthusiastic, respectful, generous, endearing, intelligent, happy, punctual, rhythmic, sensitive, dreamy, playful, complimentary, easy-going, philosophical, protective, patient, pragmatic, present, adventurous, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful -- these are some of Tim's qualities I had the benefit of experiencing in our three brief days together. I'm confident you'll benefit from encountering him, too!
From Christopher Donnelly Red Deer, Canada Oct 22 Positive yes we did enjoy the wonders of the iceland airwaves festival, ate some good vegetarian food, drank some beers, really good down to earth guy, easy to be around and have nice constructive conversation, totally will surf with you if i ever back to netherlands otherwise you are always welcome in the mindblowing city of red deer alberta
From Kate Attrill Portsmouth, United Kingdom Oct 21 Positive If you could still leave 'extremely positive' references, Tim would deserve one. We found ourselves staying at the same hosts and had a lovely mini-adventure around a bit of Iceland.
Thanks for my lovely Iceland day (-:
From Tommy Quist Leiden, Netherlands Jan 21 Positive Tim took me into his awesome house and let me surf there at the last moment, when I was going to stay at the park where we had the midsummernight meeting, and it was an awesome stay. Tim is a top notch CouchSurfer!
From FOUNGLI London, United Kingdom Jan 20 Positive Timz is an easy person to confide in, as I had to ask him to help me sort out a problem and he was non- judgmental about it. He is a sensitive responsible, quiet person who takes a little time to get to know people.
From Mike Verbruggen Utrecht, Netherlands Jan 11 Positive Tim a lovely and shining dude. Every time we meet its fun to talk about West-Friesland.
From Eveline van Velthuijsen Utrecht, Netherlands Dec 21, 2008 Positive You are very welcome!!! It was a pleasure hosting you, and I hope I'll be hosting you more in the future (in Madrid for example :P ). It is very easy to become friends with Timz, he is a wonderfull and open person, and a good party buddy!
From LINA79 Washington, United States Aug 4, 2008 Positive I met Tim at Distant Heat Festival. He's so much fun! Very positive and always ready to have a good time. Intelligent, respectful and deeply interested in the local culture. A true Couchsurfer!
From Joshua Hawkey Canberra, Australia Aug 3, 2008 Positive Tim and his friend Jasper were great guests. It was like catching up with old friends, and it was such a nice way to relax as we went out to dinner and then had a coffee and sheesha on the rooftops in Jebel Amman. Very friendly and great fun. You're more than welcome to drop by when you come to Australia. Enjoy Chad!
From Avishag Rose Jerusalem, Israel Jul 31, 2008 Positive After an adventurous weekend with Tim and his friend Jasper (surprisingly there are night life in Jerusalem, including Tunnel Parties!) no wonder I lost 3/6 of my senses… They are the best guests that one can ask for.
I had wonderful time with you, guys (though it feels too short, you'll have to come again!).
From Alon Goldshuv Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel Jul 25, 2008 Positive Tim and his friend Jasper stayed in my place in Tel Aviv for 1 night. It was a true pleasure, they are both very easy going, fun, interesting and trustworthy. Would host them again any time (that is, if they want to come back here after seeing the whole globe). Have a good rest of the trip and thanks again for the holland tips, will surely make good use of them next time I'm there.
From Krista Sihvonen Helsinki, Finland Jul 25, 2008 Positive I just left Brussels behind me, when I met Tim and stayed one night on his couch. Tim was the only thing on that day, which made me feel better. :) He was really kind and as we met only for one hour or so I'm really looking for meeting and talking with him some day again! A great host!
From LINEL Antwerp, Belgium Jul 24, 2008 Positive As we were let down by our initial host at the last moment when we were already in Utrecht, we had to find a couch urgently. Tim saved us and we spend a very nice evening with him. He's an exemplary host I would recommend to everybody, he's a °real° coucher!
From ALOUISIA Utrecht, Netherlands Jul 21, 2008 Positive Always a good conversation!
From Henk van der Veen Utrecht, Netherlands Jun 29, 2008 Positive Tim and I both put in a lot of effort to keep the Utrecht CS a lively scene. He is a regular at metings and we worked together on the CS Midsummernight weekeind meeting in Utrecht. He's also a great graphic designer it turns out, a talented guy that you get along with easy. Relaxed, intelligent and reliable, full of ideals and unafraid to go for it! Keep it up dude...
From ANDORINHA Geroldswil, Switzerland May 16, 2008 Positive Tim is a wonderful conversation partner with an interest for spiritual ideas. On a warm May evening I enjoyed walking next to his side through Zurich, taking part on his thoughts, laughs and easygoing manners.
Hey "old spirit", see you soon again to get to know more about your old soul!
From Harald van Gils Amsterdam, Netherlands May 13, 2008 Positive We met in Utrecht, and he told me about his experiences in Iceland. He must be the ultimate couchsurfer, very energetic, active and has been in a lot of places. Like your pics as well ;-) We got to know each other better during the Berlin Beach Camp, and the trip to and from Berlin. He is very straightforward and fun to hang around with.
From Arnaldo Arends The Hague, Netherlands May 13, 2008 Positive Timz is a great guy :D We went to BBC together and it was great fun. He's friendly, relaxed and a very good talker. He's sure fun to party with.
Yea and you be careful of dragons too :P
From Julia Pawlowicz Warsaw, Poland May 13, 2008 Positive i really enjoyed taking part in your morning exercises in the Camp. thanks
From Ashley Gold Saint Louis, United States May 11, 2008 Positive The short time I have spent with Tim in Zurich and at the Berlin Beach Camp has made such a positive impression on me. Tim is openminded, friendly, and funny. Jeff and I are lucky to have met such a welcoming and well-traveled person. Hope to see you again soon in the Netherlands!
From Dule Misevic Paris, France May 7, 2008 Positive It was lots of fun to have Tim and his friend Remco around for a few days. Keeping in the best crazy-Dutchman tradition, they were very easygoing, up for everything, always smiling and great to hang out with. I only wish I was more over that cold and with more energy, because we just barely started to explore all the fun stuff in Zurich. But all that mean is that you need to come again soon ;-)
From VATO_LOCO Arnhem, Netherlands May 3, 2008 Positive Timz has great ideas and thinks out of the box. Besides, some nice chill out talks about work and travel related topics in the Boterwaag, I had a valuable insight of how to follow what one really wants from this guy. He offered us a ride for Berlin too!! Can't wait to put some good tunes for everyone during our ride! Cheers for more good times!
From Ronny König Chemnitz, Germany Apr 29, 2008 Positive It was wonderful surfing Tims couch and we had a great time with him traveling around. We were pretty lucky to had him for our first surf.
Hopefully we will be able to host him some day and play some more games with him.
From ROSSI IN ROTTERDAM Rotterdam, Netherlands Apr 13, 2008 Positive Tim(Z)is always fun to meet. He is always kind, enthusiastic, passionate about travelling and considerate and we both love music:)
From Hana Vong Utrecht, Netherlands Apr 5, 2008 Positive It started with a bucket.. and continued through random tangents that merged seamlessly into more and more ad-hoc and relatively thought-provoking conversation. Looking very forward to chatting more with him .. bucket or no bucket!
From Sanne Bongers Utrecht, Netherlands Mar 30, 2008 Positive Tim is a very nice conversation partner and a good listener. I think he found out how to live life well, which is quite an achievement! Let's have some more of those conversations :)
From Marco Piana Rome, Italy Mar 25, 2008 Positive The first thing that pleasantly surprised me about Tim was his extremely personalized couchrequest message: he had read through all my profile and he had spent a few minutes tailoring his message for me. I am happy that I finally managed to host him, although for one night only (I wish it would have been longer). The other way Tim surprised me is his deep up-to-dateness (?) of italian news (from politics to economics) and his huge travel experience, which he shared a bit with me. I was very pleased to meet such a person, and if I ever go to Utrecht, his couch will be my first destination!
From Giuseppe Bucca Rome, Italy Mar 24, 2008 Positive Cool guy! Hosted him only for a night but I'd have been very happy to enjoy his company longer. We had really nice chats, shared stories, ideas and opinions about all kinds of things and it felt like talking to an old friend. He's funny, very kind and doesn't give anything for granted, a very considerate guest. Definitely worth hosting/surfing. Thank you Tim, hope to meet you again.
From Jeroen Geerdink Utrecht, Netherlands Mar 10, 2008 Positive Tim(z), great guy with a few unexpected sides to him. Spent time with him on many occasions always having fun. We have some motor bike related plans for the summer, hope they work out.
From Astrid Kuiper Utrecht, Netherlands Mar 9, 2008 Positive We talked for a while at a CS meeting, and Tim told me so much about his traveling and CS meeting in Reykjavik and the rest of Iceland. The more words he said, the more I excited I got...
Every meeting he is there, with or without his red white dotted shirt ;-)
From Karst van Oosten Amsterdam, Netherlands Mar 8, 2008 Positive Talked with Tim briefly which left a very postive impression :)
From Ghazy The Hague, Netherlands Mar 1, 2008 Positive Tim seems like a nice guy and a party animal. We might see eachother in Rome during Easter Weekend! :-)
From Jacque Buysse Veenendaal, Netherlands Feb 25, 2008 Positive It is great to meet Tim and experience his enthusiasm for CS, travelling and games. We played Munchkin and he made clear what a funny game it is.
From Adela Dumbravan Bistrita, Romania Feb 24, 2008 Positive Tim's a great company!!! Choose him if you want an interesting conversation on every topic, a crazy games' night or a wild party... He's the all-in-one man! :)
From Dieuwke Hettinga Utrecht, Netherlands Feb 21, 2008 Positive Always in for a party, showing up on the meetings, Tim is a regular guest. He's an indispensable part of the Utrecht community (eventhough he doesn't live here).
Big games fan, and in for spontanious action.
Hopefully we get to hang out and talk more at following meetings :)
From Timo Linting De Bilt, Netherlands Feb 19, 2008 Positive Tim is really cool, I met him through the csmeetings, he's one of the persons who's always there. You can talk to him about what you like, he 's always interrested
From Petteri Aalto Utrecht, Netherlands Feb 17, 2008 Positive Tim is a really relaxed and easy-going guy who is always up for a beer or two. All in all a top guy ;)
From Emre Ayranci Utrecht, Netherlands Jan 29, 2008 Positive Tim is a cool guy, who I met in Utrecht CS meetings and is highly interested in joining me in other parties ;) He is definitely I nice guy to have a chat and hang around with..
From Suz Cleary Melbourne, Australia Jan 21, 2008 Positive Tim surfed with us in our CS home, and joined my housemates, friends and some other CSers for a night out on the town (even got interviewed for radio and our pics on the website ... new years resolution "to have more fun!"). He's intelligent, sociable and friendly and we all enjoyed his company in the short time we spent together before Dave and I left for Morocco. And I was stoked to get back from Morocco and find that there were some of those yummy Dutch biscuits left!!
From CASSIDY Donegal, Ireland (Republic of) Jan 2, 2008 Positive Tim,(who is not from Smurfland), was good fun to host. He was up for Korean food and a language lesson.. and for being dragged on a loooong hike around a peninsula.. and for being dragged out for a sleepless night in town with my nutty friends (a torment I tend to give visiting couchy's). Basically, he's up for trying new things and was a really interesting person to spend time with.
From Pedro Bernardo Barcelona, Spain Dec 30, 2007 Positive Have to say that this man is the funiest Dutch man I ever met. He was being hosteed by my friend Chris and ended up sleeping (confortably I hope) in my bedroom floor. We shared loads of laughs over a few good drinks including that nasty black Absynthe that I spend a fortune on... blhark
Hope to see you again buddy, had a great time around you
From Liza van Kuijk Utrecht, Netherlands Dec 17, 2007 Positive You can trust Tim with your life! He is both a couch surf fanatic and a games fanatic (like myself). He is a layed back open person, opening his house to anyone in need and he has some amazing lifestories to tell.
From Josef Teufer Vienna, Austria Dec 7, 2007 Positive A nice guy and the only one who slept at the same place as me during sinterklaas, who surely didn't snore. (Coz the snoring clearly came from the right and he was the only one left from myself.) ;-)
From Rieke Liebrecht Luneburg, Germany Dec 4, 2007 Positive forunately we surfed the same couch in Rotterdam, cause I really appreciate to meet him! He's really a nice, funny and good-looking man who seems to have everything under control - that's why he was our captain ;) his German is perfect, with an endearing Dutch accent :)
From Frederieke Kolkman Rotterdam, Netherlands Dec 4, 2007 Positive I met Tim at the sinterklaasmeeting and talked for a while. We share the same passion Sports. Hope to see him again some time because we are not finished talking!
From Sjoerd Vosse Haarlem, Netherlands Dec 3, 2007 Positive We surfed the same couch for a night during the Rotterdam Sinterklaas meeting and without his leadership capabilities we certainly would have gotten lost. Tim is a very social guy that looks after people and fun and interesting to talk to, so hook up with him if you get the chance. Plus he was about the only one that didn't ruin my rest by snoring/talking/moving!
From Frank van Steenwijk Dublin, Ireland (Republic of) Dec 3, 2007 Positive Tim is very open minded and talkative guy. I met him at the Sinterklaas party in Rotterdam. As we aren't living too far away more meetings will probably follow, perhaps at a boardgames gathering somewhere as our first scheduled event is cancelled.
From Rainey Sastrowidjojo Rotterdam, Netherlands Dec 2, 2007 Positive Tim and i had to explain the 'rules' about the girls to each other. hahaha. Next time we gonna do more 'hunting' together. It was real fun, hope to see you soon.
From Evelien van den Broek Amsterdam, Netherlands Nov 27, 2007 Positive A bit of a late reaction, but Tim walked up to me in Reykjavík during the Airwaves week while actually never having met me ('are you evelien?'), which was a complete surprise & a lot of fun. Recognized me from my profile. We just met shortly, but the impression was definately positive!
From Melissa Jones Vancouver, Canada Nov 19, 2007 Positive Amazing experience...even thru time! We went to a historical park museum where people actually lived in ancient, medieval and Roman times-it was awsome.Plus we both experienced windmills for our first time!!!
From Jasper Haenen Utrecht, Netherlands Nov 17, 2007 Positive Tim is a nice guy, games freak, lover of good music and devoted to traveling and Couch surfing. One of the stable powers of the Utrecht group, but he seems to be active and organizes meeting everywhere he goes...
From ROULIE Le Havre, France Nov 5, 2007 Positive Hope to meet Tim again to knwo more about him, but first impressions are really good. A man appreciating an exhibition only about women is a good one...
From Maria Pham The Hague, Netherlands Nov 2, 2007 Positive finally found a dutch guy who shares my passion with me...party and music. hope we party together soon!
From Kaare Viemose Aarhus, Denmark Oct 22, 2007 Positive Nice, cool and always smiling young man (maybe because he live very close to Amsterdam!?)
From Vala and Þórgnýr Thoroddsen Reykjavik, Iceland Oct 22, 2007 Positive Now, meeting Tim took forever. Originally he saw that we were going to the Netherlands and INVITED us to stay with him and to show us around! We decided to go, but we had to cancel on the last minute since we had very little time on our hands. Finally, Tim came to Iceland and we were going to host him, but he had already promised to stay elsewhere....finally, after series of sms's here in Iceland we managed to meet him on a local pub and drank a pint with him and had the most enjoyable time! Better late than never, he went back home 3 hours later. Stroke of luck! Even from what little we've seen of him he had already made an impression on us as a really accomodating and generous host, and when we finally did meet him he struck us as a generally very very nice guy! We definitely have to catch up later, TIMZ!
From Ben Mathis Cologne, Germany Oct 22, 2007 Positive Tim was a great house guest. He was interesting, friendly and made us a great Dutch dinner. I'd definitely let him stay with us again, and I hope to visit him sometime in the land of tulips and windmills.
From Katharina Mantwill Berlin, Germany Oct 21, 2007 Positive We met in Reykjavik at the Iceland Airwaves. He was great company: fun, friendly and very positive. As my first CS experience it made me totally look forward to be part of this. Thank you for that. Cya again.
From Willem Bouman Rotterdam, Netherlands Oct 17, 2007 Positive Met him some times and will meet him again for sure, he's everywhere - he's reported to be at almost every meeting in The Netherlands. And Tim is such a positive guy..meet him or otherwise he'll meet you!
From Margie Lewis Dublin, Ireland (Republic of) Sep 25, 2007 Positive Tim suggested couch surfers should go to ROBODOCK festival in Amsterdam. I was interested so Tim and I took on this wonderland of scrap metal and mishmash. Twas the most amazing day of mind-warping magic, robotics, soundscape, fire, destruction and experimental art that really tinkered with the heart. Tim has an amazing brain. His love for music pumps through his veins. He is organised, pro-active and makes lots of time for enjoying life and taking part in music/art festivals and who knows what! A really fascinating guy.
From on the moon Paris, France Aug 27, 2007 Positive We met during a CS meeting, Tim is a very open-minded, friendly, easy-going person. He was going for a trip to Normandie where I am from, and it was nice to see his enthusiasm about it.
It'll be a pleasure to meet again!!
From O0GOLDFISH0O Seynod, France Aug 25, 2007 Positive always going in a party or a festival

From Frida Wielsten Maastricht, Netherlands Aug 14, 2007 Positive I met him at cs meeting in Rotterdam, it was interesting talking to him; a friendly open minded person, so that I think I had to leave too early, but we always meet twice (as the saying goes) ...
From Laurence Picard Paris, France Aug 13, 2007 Positive I hosted Tim and his friend for one night. They were very nice and happy people! I had a great time having conversations with them about traveling and cultural experiences. They are real travelers for sure! See u!
From Soca T Issy-les-Moulineaux, France Aug 12, 2007 Positive Tim is such an open, interesting and curious guy. We shared a dinner together and I enjoyed the conversations we had with him and his friend Wouter. See you soon...
From Diana Dijkzeul De Lier, Netherlands Aug 10, 2007 Positive It was definitely a pleasure to meet Tim. He is very enthousiastic, friendly,

From Saskia Borremans Antwerp, Belgium Aug 7, 2007 Positive tim is (once again) living proof i like alive dutch people, he told some funny stories about mexico and fake wrestling. I would like to meet him again soon! he will have a ball wherever he is.
From alexis-veerle Verstraelen Antwerp, Belgium Aug 3, 2007 Positive We met at a meeting in Antwerp. Tim is a great guy, we had some nice conversations... From Bart Roorda Rotterdam, Netherlands Aug 1, 2007 Positive Tim came from Culemborg (!) to meet CS'ers in Rotterdam. I'm glad he did that, he's really friendly and I will meet him again on Pukkelpop (festival in Belgium).
From Kirsten Verdel Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands Aug 1, 2007 Positive Tim has the honour to be the first couch surfer EVER that I have met in real life. He's really cool, totally trustworthy and you will probably find him anywhere in the world -desert, beach, city or mountain- where there's a party. If I wasn't travelling so much myself, I'd be jealous. :)
From Natan Vazquez Villahermosa, Mexico Jul 30, 2007 Positive Hanging out with Tim and Jasper was lots of fun, I enjoyed NOT going out at night but being introduced to some really cool music...I hope you liked staying at the house as much as I did...Take Care and Ill meet you guys again
From Daniel Estrella Nabte Merida, Mexico Jul 22, 2007 Positive Tim is a cool guy!
very talkative and easy going, we spent some time at the center of the city and enjoyed a dinner together...
:)
From J A S P E R Amsterdam, Netherlands Jun 3, 2007 Positive Tim in keywords: creative, openminded, independent, relaxed, sporty, adventurous and much more!!!
From Mia Lafontaine Antwerp, Belgium May 21, 2007 Positive Timmy is the type of guy you'd take anywhere! Good conversation, sharp, intelligent, fun, open-minded, friendly, curious.. but mostly fun! His hair is too short and he doesn't appreciate the maple leaf.. but I need to meet up with him again so we can go dancing, check out some shows and explore new places..
From Thomas Goorden Antwerp, Belgium May 21, 2007 Positive Although Tim had already booked a room, he would have been a prefect guest. From drinking coffee to drinking (a lot of) beer, from shaking hands to talking about openmindedness-life-and-love, from walking-while-talking to laughing-while-dancing, it was a perfect encounter. We'll meet again. |
