Couch Information
Couch Available: Maybe Preferred Gender: Any Max Surfers Per Night: 3
Shared Sleeping Surface: No Shared Room: NoYou will sleep either on the couch (hey, it's called couchsurfing *g*) - extendable, so it will be ok for two people. The couch is in the living room/kitchen/office - it's a all-in-one room and that's why a common area.
Or we change and you'll sleep in my bed (of course I have fresh linen) and I'll sleep on the couch - so it will be a private room for you (ok, once a day I will have to enter to get fresh clothes *g*). In this room there is also enough space for a 3rd guest to sleep on the floor.
I'd prefer the second way as I go to bed late (and get up not later than you'll do).
Anyhow: I have one more blanket - so if you arrive in a group (2 or 3 people) some have to bring their sleeping bags with them. I finally have my first own flat - a quite small one, but there's enough space to host some people. I live in a small village nearby Paderborn - but the bus goes every 15 minutes to the town center, passing the railway station. I can offer a double bed and a place on the floor.
Please contact me at least 7-8 days in advance - but that doesn't mean that I don't host you last minute. If you want to stay here for weekend: Almost impossible. Usually I'm off for weekend (going to my home town, visiting friends, traveling...) - and if I'd be home it's for some reason which makes it impossible to host :(
Because I just moved here some times ago I unfortunately can't offer you a perfect guide through the city, but I know some good pubs - the nearest is 15 meter from my flat :)
So feel free to contact me. In emergency cases you can call me (+49 176 47047153) but I prefer to get a usual CS request *g*
Greetings

Personal DescriptionWell... it's hard for me to create a picture of my own. It's also a bit depending on by mood in this moment. But usually I'm down-to-earth - but also ran in a monkey costume for two hours through Vienna for the Free Hugs event on the Vienna Calling 2010. Usually not a party animal an a bit shy - but danced on a subway party in Munich in the middle of a subway station. But always I try to be gentle, polite and kind. But here's what others say about me:
Caspar: Good person, very down to earth
Thomas: a rater quiet guy, but he has the heart of a giant
Mimimimi: a nice person and really worth it to be friend with
Toufik: He is the perfect guest... on time and precise, 100% made in Germany
Konrad: Thomas was a wonderful guest: very polite, respectful, and friendly
Mathias: seemed to be shy at first impact ...indipendent and perfectly organized
Kiwia: Thomas was great to have around, very easy going and low maintenance.
Ver: His dedication and sincere attitude to provide positive and encouraging CSing experience is highly commendable.
Manja: the most reliable person I met in my life
Sergei: Thomas and Holm are very friendly and polite guys. It was easy and comfortable to host them.
Argita: Thomas was a very nice guest and I appreciate his independency.
Lidiya: Thomas and his friend arrived at our place and we liked them at the same time. They were so polite and shy :-)) that everybody would like them! :)
Yes - I am completely travel-addicted - can't stay for more than one weekend at home, always have to be on the move :)

Feel also free to take a look at my pictures of several travels at topas Picasaweb account
How I Participate in CSAs a driver who does a lot of car sharing I tell all co-drivers about it - so it's some kind of promotion
Also started working as a city ambassador - would need more time to do better, but it's already improving
Also work (as time allows) in the New Member Welcome group to greet all the newbiesCouchSurfing ExperienceNot all, but more than half of them by couchsurfing there:
 visited 29 states (12.8%)
Several hosts in Ireland during a bicycle trip (1000km within 11 days)
Also had hosts in Moscow, Wroclaw, Prague, Strasbourgh, Bremen, Milano, Riga, Leiden, Gdansk, Kaliningrad, Vilnius, Tallin, Olsztyn, Stockholm, Cagliari, Edinburgh, Utrecht, Stavanger, Skudeneshavn, Haugesund, Tampere, Vienna, St. Petersburg, Lappeenranta, Barcelona, Marrakech, Cassablanca, Agadir, Maspalomas, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Bucharest, Ruse, Sofia and Istanbul (and those I might have forgotten).
Always either went out for a beer or had a very nice evening in the flat, sometimes I also made a pasta dinner :)
Hosted people from Indonesia, France, Germany, United States, Poland and Russia.
Joined a few CS evens as "Edinburgh Rocks" (2009), "Midsummer festival Utrecht" (2009), "Vienna Calling" (2010), co-managed a (pretty small) invasion of Bremen CS to Paderborn.InterestsThey are always changing :(
Tried Aikido and Ninjutsu - had to stop both for lack of time (but still love japanese traditional soft martial arts).
Tried studying business law in a electronic distance learning - canceled as it was too hard to do next to a usual 10to7 job (in a complete different topic).
Right now trying learning accustic guitar (but in the very beginnning) and oce a week giving private tutoring in German language (as a volounteer work). Also started doing my motorbike driving licence and consider learning another foreign language (or improve either Polish or Russian).
But one thing remains - traveling:) These are the flight stats of my travels :)
PhilosophyDon't travel for the sake of arriving but of traveling.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832)
Live is not counted by the number of breaths we took but by the people and moments that took our breath.
Only fools travel to other countries to enter museums - wise ones enter pubs.
Erich Kastner (1899 - 1974) Music, Movies, Bookswide range...
Music everything in (classic) rock and pop, sometimes even wider range
Movies: More the funny stuff... Favorite actors are Jackie Chan and Eddie Murphy. As I'm alway lacking of time I'm used to watch series instead. On series for example M.A.S.H., Simpsons, Two and a half men, Nothern Exposure, sometimes even Gilmore Girls:) But also classic detective-like stuff as Sherlock Holmes and Miss Marple.
Books I don't read that much... the Harry Potter stuff has been the latest things. If I have time I prefer non-fiction books, so for example "final witness", "Simpsons an philosophy", "an inconvenient truth"... During my studies I also had to read law books (luckily canceled that)Types of People I enjoyCalm people thar prefer to spend a nice evening (maybe with a glass of wine or bottle of beer) and to talk. People that are interested in talking about themselfe and to listen to others.Opinion on the CouchSurfing.org ProjectGreat idea... The more you leave the tourist trails the more you see and feel the country. No one knows the town or country better than your host.Locations TraveledTRAVELED: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland (Republic of), Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey WANTS TO GO: Portugal, Ukraine, United States
What do these numbers mean?
This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.
In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.
When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you. References (56)56Positive 0Neutral 0Negative
