Personal Description

I'm tall. I love moving around. I LOVE snowboarding. I LOOOOVE biking. I LOOOOOOOOVE Indian food.

How I Participate in CS

I enjoy hosting people because I love hearing travel stories!

Updated Jan 09: I'm traveling around now and using CS to just meet people and hang out. I love CS and evangelize it to every traveler I meet :-)

Update July 09: Moved to our nation's capital and starting to get involved in CS here

Update Sept 10: In Baltimore for a while and can't wait to meet the other bm CSers!

CouchSurfing Experience

I'm hooked! I love the spirit behind the project and I think travelers are the best kind of people. The connections that travelers form are often the most interesting ones that people have.

I hosted nonstop in San Francisco and have used it to meet people a lot. Everyone I've met has been incredible and I'm addicted.

Interests

Snowboarding, Photography, People, Biking... lots of biking, Music, Web stuff

Philosophy

I try to be entirely open with everyone I meet. I'm all about just being around people from different places and just having fun.

I have no misgivings and no regrets. Sometimes it gets me into trouble, but without risk, where's the experience?

Music, Movies, Books

Music:
Matt & Kim, Voxtrot, Discovery, Band of Horses, Atmosphere, and sooooo much more. The list changes every day :-)
Books:
The End of Faith, by Sam Harris
The End of Poverty, by Jeffrey Sachs

Types of People I enjoy

Every single person I meet. Especially cool ones.

Teach, Learn, Share

Treat the homeless with respect.
Learn about inequality.
Acknowledge your privilege.
Question everything you do.
Don't regret anything.

One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done

Had a food fight with with a neighboring apartment building... from my balcony. Lots of things went flying: mustard, milk, old avocados, pasta.. a couch.

Locations Traveled

TRAVELED: Australia, Canada, England, Ethiopia, France, India, Israel, Jordan, Myanmar (Burma), Spain, Thailand
LIVED: Djibouti, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Uganda, United States

What do these numbers mean?

This summary is not a replacement for reading references; it's a quick summary to help you get started. At a glance, you can see how many references a member has, and how many of them are positive, neutral, and negative.

In the second line, you'll see how many references came from people who hosted this member, surfed with them, and traveled with them. These numbers won't always add up to the total: some references are not categorized, and some may be categorized as more than one thing.

When viewing this summary, don't jump to conclusions! Things that are negative for one person may be positive for another, and vice versa. It's important to read references carefully and evaluate what that information means to you.

To put it simply, Jack is one of the great people here on Earth. One of my favorite people to spend time with. Jack's fearless when it comes to meeting people and making new friends and he's always open to what life has to offer. He'll generally have an idea or three of how to spend your day or night and it's almost always a blast. Definitely hit him up!

Yar, this lad be a good matey. He sailed with me for almost a week and he didn't attempt mutiny even once! He's the kind of feller who would offer you peg leg oil even if it was his last bottle. He be funny and easy going, the kind of lad you want swabbing yer poop deck. I would be mighty glad if he were to call San Francisco his home port. If you have the chance definitely get this hand on yer crew!

Not only unfazed by the absolute lack of propriety here, Jack reveled in it, exploited it, threw it on the ground and said "who's your daddy?". I love Jack. He takes an invitation seriously. He has a rad pink wallet. We are seriously hoping he will forget about DC and move back to San Francisco.

Jack is a phenomenal person with a lot of positive energy. Traveling with him in large group in a tiny country was pretty awesome and I know that he's got the travel spirit that makes traveling souls so special! Very dependable you are, my dear!
