Solene Vermont

 

Solene is a very hospitable host. She met me in Cork city center and helped carry my backpack back to her incredibly beautiful home. She whipped up a tasty dinner for both of us and I was able to hear some of her travel stories. She recommended loads of great places to go in Cork. I hope I make it back one day to see more and get a chance to talk with Solene again.

Met Solene while she was visiting Waterford, A quiet calm lady who is intelligent, and very interesting to chat to. Wished we had more time.

 

Solene was a breadth of fresh air over a hectic w/e. Sitting with her on the mountain overlooking the sea was the highlight of the w/e, its good to step off the roller coaster and watch the world go by. A very intelligent, interesting and caring person who I am happy to call a friend :-)

Solene is beautiful! I had a wonderful time meeting her in Tramore and getting the chance to hang out and chat with her. She has a beautiful heart and I always felt very welcomed around her! I hope to see her again and perhaps stay with her in Cork! Such a positive experience!

I didn't meet Solene through CS. She's sharing house with a good friend of mine. Although I don't know her very well, she is a very pleasant and interesting person to be around, very open and friendly and intelligent.

Unfortunately I could not host Solene when she came to Bergen but we met up and she is an easy going and friendly person. It was a relly fun night, sporty of you to come to a norwegian screening of new film makers. I hope our paths cross again somewhere!

Soléne surfed my couch. A more enlightened, well-travelled traveller is hard to find. There's a lot to be learned from her adventurous and positive approach to life. I would highly recommend meeting her. She reads Oliver Sacks.

We met, had brunches, lunches, parties and it is always great to be around Solene, who has a faboulastic sense of humour - et elle est Francaise.......

 

Well, I wasn't on CS at the time, but the experience we had with Solene (staying a few nights in her AWESOME house in Cork) was almost a CS one...
So I can say she is a very nice and caring host, we had a reaally good time !

Solene is a great person to know. She makes my life nicer in Cork. I have learnt many things with her from cooking recipes to geography (with all her travel experience), books and a little bit of architecture!

 

Where to begin ? It was the firt time I couchsurfed as a guest, and Solene was a marvelous host ! She lives in a delightful house with a lovely garden, on top of Cork's hills. She toured us in Cork, showing us all the best places (eating, music,...). And when the weather got awfully rainy (even for an Irish, so imagine what a storm it was !!), she prepared a superb hot chocolate that we drunk in front of a DVD, turning this "Winter in July" experience into an unforgettable moment !

Solene was a wonderful host to us over two nights in Cork - our stay began with a colourful and interesting walking tour, with Solene's knowledgable commentary to really add life to my perception of how great this town is. We were gradually welcomed by each of her housemates-all warm and friendly travel lovers. It was great to get a real taste of this quaint area and hang out cooking and watching DVD's when the weather turned typically Irish!

I met Solene a few years ago, for a very short time; she seemed very interesting person. I met her again, she hosted me and my partner, and we had a wonderful time in Cork! Solene is funny, sensitive, with a great energy and sense of humor. Thanks for everything, hope to see you some day in Argentina! A+

 

I think I am unable to count already how many meetings we attended together. Anyway I would say she is the soul of the CS Cork and behind it all :D Anyway what I really wanted to say is that she is an exceptional and lovely person willing to help without receiving. Let me know what the cheese was called we ate at the party of Rien as I forgot :/

..if she knows how to cook something, it's definetly a bbq ;) ..see you soon.

 

She is a lovely guest indeed. Has a nice personality, like to talk and loves to listen. She is an interesting person. We like Solene very much.

we met solene in Tadhg´s house in cork, we had dinner together. it was a great night, we had nice conversations and we both loved solene, a great girl that we´d like to meet again. you are very welcome in our place, when you come to Aveiro.

I met Solene at the Cork CS meeting when i was travelling through Ireland and she offered to host me on the spot. She's a very friendly person and a great host. Thank's again for the CD(Kila&Oki), I love it.

 

Solene and I spent a year or so working together, during much of which we generally did little but discuss getting away and travelling ! :-) Solene is one of the most uniquely energising people I’ve had the pleasure spend time with, while also soulful, sharp and worldly.

I was in touch with Solène during Cork Jazz Festival 2007.We had a kind of lunch/diner because it was 5 pm. We had good&interresting discussions in a very good restaurant. I met her again during the festival& at 24hrs art non stop. She is open mind&easy going person. I hope to keep in touch with her as I'll be in Cork. Maybe for the next Cork Jazz festival 2008????

 

Solene made my stay in Cork extremely pleasant, she was a good listener and seems to know a lot of that part of the world I want to visit soon. And yes, I did enjoy my freedom, so THANK YOU :)

Who doesn't E N J O Y Solène?

Surfed with Solene for one night. Wish we could have spent more time and gotten to know her better. She was very helpful and even though she wasn't feeling well did her best to make sure our short stay in Cork was good. We met a couple of her friends and she even let us take her cell phone when we took a walk to the city center.
Her home is huge and in a beautiful setting with a wonderful view.

Put together Magic-Elegance-Power and you'll get Solene. Is something mysterious in this person. Something extremely positive. If You'll get chance to meet her-do it!

Solène hosted us for one night on our road trip around Ireland. She took us on an interesting tour around Cork (not only the Belle Vue Park at the other side of Cork :p) and we had a drink and a chat afterwards. She's a very helpful, kind, spontaneous, open minded person who cares a lot about people. Thanks a lot Solène for the hospitality, for dinner, showing us around and the company. If you and/or Sean are in or around Belgium I'd be happy to have you as guests as well !

 

Chatting, Socialising, drinking, partying, and dancing; all that was enough to see in Solene a true and devoted wanderlust friend, who will hopefully cross my path again. Red dress and a vodka, CS extravaganza! Cannot sing more praises, you HAVE to meet the top-of-the-world lady in person...

The Cs meetings, the beers, the laughs, the smiles and the colours! It's all I know about her and it's more than enough. Solene is that kind of person that you can see trought the eyes: open windows to the soul. Beautiful, sweet and a good chatterbox, it's impossible not to like her! by the way, she has good taste for colours! Our red rulez!

I had a good time with Solene. I showed her around Tokyo and she put up with my sub-standard sleeping arrangment without any complaints. She had a great travel ethic, and was hitch-hiking through Japan! Wow!

 

A Superhero, a dreamer, with smiles and grace and a touch of crazy elegance, In the presence of Solene you feel calm and relaxed. Yes solene, you relax and calm me.... a mean achievement some might say (including you and me both!) but this is how i feel... it was wonderful to meet you in the middle of a colour rainbow hurricane and next time the storm settles we can continue our conversation... WWWWWWWEeeeeeeeeeeee the hurricane just kicked off again... i see blue, no - purple, no - maybe red... oh oh.. how can i be sure???

My friend Uwe and I stand for one night in her flat share. it was realy nice. thank you for all solene.

 

Solène is really open-minded and welcoming and very easy to be friends with. We've had some lovely evenings over suppers and smelly cheese, sharing our thoughts and laughs over just about everything...

Living at Solène's house was more like being taken in by the whole "family" of roommates. It helped to show me there was much more to Ireland than just Dublin ( *duh!* ; I know, but I keep forgetting this fact about capitals much too often). Solène and her roommates were very welcoming, engaging, and basically really good people. In true CouchSurfing spirit, they showed me Cork in an intimate way which would not have been possible via the traditional ways. Thanks a million.

 

Solene is a lovely french person who has a lovely sense of humour and accompanying smile! She was a very considerate surfer whom I would be very happy to host again! When you then add in her brilliant personality and 'soundness' you get a friend you want to keep on meetin!!

 

She and Kevin were traveling all around.
They have been to most of the very same place i was driving to with my motorbike. Once on the ferry i tought i had to quit my world tour but after my 6 months japanese experience i could have fixed my bike and keep on traveling.
I really apprecieated this two guys and i often took a lot at their blog/journal.

Solene is very nice and attentive to others. She was immediatIy friendly and I felt really confortable with her. She is also badly organized and it is a challenge to meet her ! But I really recommend you to try :)

solene was a great host and did everything she could to make sure we were taken care of. it was a pleasure to meet her and her flat mates.

 

Far too good to be true. We travelled all over Asia together, and shared amazing, amazing experiences together. Hopefully we will get to share some more in the future.

 

Solene was a great host. Chatting with her and her roomates was a lot of fun, and very interesting. We arrived on a Sunday, and she was very happy to show us around the city, even though the weather was not so nice!

Solene and her partner were traveling for a long time and washed ashore at our place along the Mekong in Vientiane. They introduced us to couchsurfing and were our first surfers, we've been hooked since.

Solene was a great host and her house mates were very nice. They took us out on the town and made sure we had pleanty of tea and great conversation!

Solene is a very friendly and charming lady with some great stories to tell. If you get the chance to host/surf her, or even just go for tea, id highly recommend her! Merci, Solene!

We enjoyed a night of good food, good drinks, a night full of laughter. Solene is a vibrant soul with a lot of amazing stories.

She is very involved in Couchsurfing, so I guess that'es enough to say... And as she is my sister and the one who lead me here...

 

Although she was busy working she invited me to stay in the house she shares with her comrades. We didn't agree about the movie we saw together at the Cork Film Festival, but she is very nice and friendly anyway :-)

Along with her partner Kevin (Dub), spent the best part 8months randomly running into each other across Japan and east Asia, crossing paths with alarming regaularity. A few months after we all finished our travels, then surfed with her in Cork as well. A wonderfully friendly person, and another great ambassador for CS. Hopefully we'll meet up again, whether randomly or not.

Solene is a very good Host !! I was her guest, Cork , August 2006, during my world tour !! She's very friendly, good Ambassador for Cork !! She's a great traveller, 1 year in all Asia !! We had good chat, but I was a little shy ! Welcome in Toulouse ! Thanks, see you !

Oh - and she's French and I somewhat got the feeling that she actually doesn't like that as much as the people around her. But perhaps I'm wrong - I couldn't even say where I got that impression from...:-D

The first time I met Solene was at the CSC Eisenstadt, we did a short interview about her experiences with CS. My partner and I were hosted by her in Ireland, which was a great experience. Hope to see you again.

It was so nice to spend time with Solene in Vienna because she was so friendly and intelligent. We wished we could comine my musical and her architectural skills in some kind of amazing world-changing project!

Solene is very friendly and since we don't live far apart, we might meet more often - maybe we'll have a nice dinner after I finish my fasting :)

Solene and Kevin were my first couchsurfing guests to host in marmaris. i still recall how excited i was while i was waiting for their arrival at the seaport. the day i spent with them was full of pure joy and happiness for me. i hope we'll meet again somewhere in the near future.. thanks for the great experience!

It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope to get to know you better. I am planning to travel to Ireland this or next year. It would be nice to meet up then. :)

 

This girl has a great love for CouchSurfing. I got a good chance to talk to her about CouchSurfing and I think that if all people had her love of CouchSurfing, then the world would a perfect place. She says she is sorry about missing our meet in Bratislava, I should be the one sorry because I wasn't in Bratislava when we were supposed to meet-- long story. :( But if I get a chance to hang out with her again, I will jump at it.

Im mad huh... She is simply a delight. We sat up philosophisng til 5 or so. She's a bit corky though :)

We hung out together a lot during the weekend of the collective in Vienna and had good times and intense conversations. A lot of fun.

 

What a lovely girl. We had some nice chat's at the collective picnic and the next night at Markus'(Flightcontrol). She is really easygoing, smart and interesting. Hope to meet again.
