Nantes

the main city of the pays-de-la-loire is the most active CS community of the Region, constituated by more than 559 couchsurfers. In this city, you will enjoy the ambiance of the sixth biggest student city in France, Nantes, modern and contemporary. Industrial architecture as the factory of the famous or Batignolles plant Lefèvre-Utile (LU) today houses the national stage in Nantes, religious buildings like the Sainte-Thérèse, habitats or modern offices ( Delamarre building by Le Corbusier) for the reconstruction of post-war, Art Nouveau (the villa Jeannette), to Art Deco (building CGA), Nantes full of architectural, aesthetic and contemporary urban formed largely during the post-war.

Angers

Angers is the 17th city of France, on the Maine river, an affluent of the Loire. The city has 150 000 inhabitants and offers a very mild and quiet setting to its visitors. Things to see in Angers include the medieval castle, some museums (Musée des beaux-arts, Galérie David d'Angers, Jean Lurçat,...), the enjoyable pedestrian "centre ville", and the surroundings (beautiful landscapes, vineyards, etc.). The Angers CS group boasts 165 members of which the majority are very active. You will most likely have no trouble having your questions answered. For travelers who are tired of making the same old trip (Paris-Provence), Angers is a good place to stop on the way to the Atlantic coast.

St nazaire and its area

The town is situated near the swamp of Brière, an important natural reserve, the second biggest damp area in France after the Camargue (South of France). It is also located just a few minutes away from the salt pan of Guérande, ancestral salt production. Both of these areas include a great fauna and flora.

Saint-Nazaire has a few beaches, like, for example, Villès-Martin, or, a bit further, Porcé, from which you can reach creeks if you follow the pathway along the beach (« chemin des douaniers »).

The urban area of Saint-Nazaire stretches on the right bank of the river Loire's estuary to its end in Batz-sur-Mer, Le Croisic and Guérande.

If you travel with your children, if you would like to be hosted by a family, if you are searching for a host who accept a family, meeting other families making to your children more different cultural friendship, you are welcome to join the French Family's group !

Rural Couchsurfing

In Pays-de-la-Loire you have the chance to have the possibility to couchsurf a bit everywhere, even in the countryside ! Check the map of the Rural CSers in Pays-de-la-Loire, you can find them easilier on this way ! There is also a CS group called "Rural CS France" where you can talk with all Rural CSers in France.

But not all Rural CSers appears on the map or are members of the group "Rural CS France". To find the others, join the Regional CS group of Pays-de-la-Loire !
