YES! Do leave the airport and come and check out the city.

The city is just ~20 mins away by public train (S-Bahn S8 or S9).

A day-ticket for the public transportation is 8,30€ (15,00€ for a group of up to 5) and you can hop on and off as you wish.

You can purchase a "Frankfurt Card" which allows you to use the public transportation for free, including the airport! and gives you a variety of other advantages, if you e.g. plan on visiting a museum. You can get the Frankfurt Card also at the airport: Frankfurt Airport, Hotels & Tours (Terminal 1: Arrival Hall B)

What to do....

- You can get a map for 0,50€ at the Frankfurt Tourist Information for a self maintained sight-seeing-walk. Don't worry, all major attractions are pretty close together and you can shortcut to your liking.

- Stroll along "Berger Strasse", go to "Höhenstrasse" or "Merianplatz" with subway U4 and walk back to the city to "Konstablerwache".

- Check out the amazing in-door farmers-market Kleinmarkthalle in "Hasengasse" near "Konstablerwache".
