Saving Iceland

Iceland's hihlands sacrified for heavy industry !!!

The Karanhjukar dam will be an environmental disaster, submerging and destroying the largest untouched wilderness in Western Europe, an area of outstanding beauty and environmental importance, in September 2006.
It will yield slight if any profits, according to experts.
Close to 50% of Iceland's population now considers the project as a mistake. If the plans of the Icelandic government and American multinational Alcoa get performed, 25 % of the land would be irreversibly drowned and the region will be among the most polluted of Europe by 2020!
Help us to save Iceland.
An international protest camp is organised this summer in the endangered area starting on the 21st of July.
