For CS members who live, work or travel in Alexandria City, Virginia. Alexandria is a colonial-era city which is older than Washington D.C. and located about 2 miles away...just across the river. George Washington lived down the road in his estate, Mount Vernon but went to church in Alexandria. Robert E. Lee was born and raised here. Alexandria is now a thriving mid-sized city showcasing colonial architecture with many beautiful cobblestone streets, shops, cafes, bike trails along the waterfront, and a vibrant arts community (see: http://www.alexandriacommissionforthearts.org/index.php)
