Should I come?

So my travel plans got upended on me and so it looks like in Late August/September I am gonna jump a plane heading to Iceland. I've been searching flights a lot to be able to get over to Greenland and I've found about the best deal I can in September for about 600 pounds / 750 USD roundtrip. The stay would only be 10 days and the flight is to/from Kulusuk. From there it looks insanely hard or expensive to get around especially since most cities are on the west coast.

I can just spend that extra time in Iceland instead and maybe fly to Nuuk next time out of Canada since it looks like flights are becoming easier to get from there. What do ya'll think? Is it worth it to come now or should I wait on it?

Hi

I have never been on the east coat, but have heard that the nature is breath taking. I you want to go to Ilulissat or Nuuk you can go directly with Air Iceland. See their website. If you just want to stay on the east coast you can go to Tasiilaq the biggest town of the east coast. But if you go to the east coast and think you have seen Greenland then you must know that there are big differences between East and West and North and South of Greenland as there are differences between the capital Nuuk and towns and settlements.

Thanks for the reply Moortat. I've decided to save that trip for another time otherwise my lady would hate me for going without her. Just going to stay on Iceland this time around but I hope to come see you soon :)

Hi Matt,
I was in Greenland in April last year. I spent just over 2 weeks on the West Coast and had thought about visiting Kulusuk as well. But as you said, domestic flights are extremely expensive. For me it would have been cheaper to fly from the West to the East coast via Iceland...
I went to Uummannaq, Ilulissat, Sisimiut, Nuuk and Kangerlussuaq. Particularly the first two destinations were fantastic and offer probably more than the East Coast (although it must be great too and less touristy).
I am not sure about direct flights from Canada to Nuuk! In April the only international flight was between Copenhagen and Kangerlussuaq. In summer there are also flights to the Southern part of Greenland as well as from Iceland...
Instead of combining Iceland and Greenland it might be worthwhile having a good look around each of these places. But you should definitely go to Greenland at some stage!!! I am thinking of visiting again next summer ;-)
Cheers
