hi everyone. i am an israeli motorcyclist.
i'll be coming to the u.S for about half a year to illinois.
i think i will land in new york and i want to make a nice trip to illinois.

because i will be in the U.S only for half a year i want some old and cheap motorcycle.. i have a european driving license with A1 criteria (it's abput up to 450 CC)

my questions are:
1) is the european licence degrees are same in the US ? or i can buy a motorcycle that is more than 450 CC ?

2) where is the cheapest to buy a motorcycle on the way from new york to illinois ? is there are states that buying a motorcycle will be cheaper ?

3) how much is the basic insurance for a motorcycle in the U.s ?

4) do you know any good websites ?

thanks a lot

Hey man this group is for bicycling, but....

1. I have no idea, in the us it depends on state. In some states you need a license for greater then 50cc in some states its all the same. I would recommend getting an international motorcycle license, which is usually just using a few passport photos and paying a fee.

2. New york is expensive to buy anything, especially the city, however you are going into the fall which is the best time to buy, I would look on craigslist (our version of yadshteim) and search all the nearby areas. Spend time see what prices are where you look.

3.I think when I was paying it was around 60-70 a month but it depends on what kind of bike you have (harley's are the most) how many CCs it is and what how long you've been riding.

4. Craigslist, google, http://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles
