Concrete change - yes can we! Support needed

Want to cycle safely from Manhattan all the way to Coney Island? Live in Brooklyn or like to visit? Visiting from Europe and want to feel good by downward comparison?

The Transportation Committee of Community Board 2 is considering a request by Fort Greene & Clinton Hill volunteers to add important links to the NYC bike lane network. CB2 has a reputation for being knee-jerk anti-cycling. Your support is needed to encourage them to do the right thing! Join us at the Transportation Committee meeting Tue Feb 16 at 6pm; St Francis College, 180 Remsen St, Brooklyn; Borough Hall stop on 2,3,4,5,M,R

Proposed:
1) A 2-way lane along Vanderbilt, from Flushing Ave in the north to the existing lanes at Dean Street - linking the bridges, Williamsburg and Fort Greene to Prospect Heights & Park Slope and further to Ocean Parkway and Coney Island.

2) A southward lane on Rockwell connecting DeKalb and 3rd Ave - linking Bed Stuy, Clinton Hill and Fort Greene to Boerum Hill

3) Lafayette from Fulton to Carlton (connecting to the Willoughby lane - similarly linking the reverse from 2.
