Food Not Bombs
Posted November 4th, 2013 - 2:06 pm by from Berlin, Germany (Permalink)
Hello my beloved Berliners!
I'm looking for a Food Not Bombs group in here. Is there anybody out there?
I am during my moving to Berlin process, but anyway, I don't want it to stop me from doing things like FNB. I have participated in it in Poland in Gorzow Wielkopolski and I really miss those weekly familly like meetings, with cooking together and having occassional beers in lovely atmosphere :) And of course helping the homeless! :D I mean: it's for sure the main goal of that, but anyway, I really enjoyed those meetings! :)
Is there any FNB group active in Berlin? If so, I hope I can join you guys. If not, is there anybody who would like to start such a group with me?
Greetings to everybody,
make food not war,
Zuza

I'm in favour of that :) We could meet and decide on something. Any suggestions where and when?

I've heard the same from my friends, that there is rather no thing called Food Not Bombs, but a lot of similar actions. I would same as well be happy to join one of those things as to start FNB. But I like the idea of FNB in general, because except for helping the poor, it has also a tiny little pacifistic, antigovermental manifestation.

For me that's fine. I vote for going to some squat. Maybe we could gather some other people, have a look around, if the ppl from the squat are into the idea, they could let us cook in there maybe...

can someone decide, who knows the places?
and what time do you think?

Posted November 20th, 2013 - 12:54 pm by from Berlin, Germany (Permalink)
Know the place is too much said, but somebody has to make a decision. So let's make it Kopi.

20:30, Kopenicker Strasse 137. Closest subway: U-Bahn station Heinrich-Heine-Strasse.
So who is coming?

Hey there,

I also just moved to Berlin and are looking for people to go dumpster diving. We used to do dumpster dinner which were a lot of fun! Also open for VoKü - since I really like the idea. So if you guys meet - I'd love to join! :-) So long Kerstin

Hello!
Nothing in this field is happening, we haven't had any meeting. I was also thinking of joining some VoKu, but somehow I left this idea for later, focusing on finding some work and other boring stuff :P But I would really like to get into it, high time for that.
About dumpster diving: I haven't been particularly looking for it, but when I see the supermarket, most of the time I check on that and no possibilities so far. Everythinh locked. But if you want to have a little dumpster city tour, I'm in :D especially that my money is dangerously running away from me.

So who's up for a meeting?

You mean that you've already been organizing Food Not Bombs or you want to start it?

Posted January 12th, 2014 - 12:11 pm by from Berlin, Germany (Permalink)
Hi, No, thought about starting one here in Berlin unless there is an existing group, any ideas?
If there is an existing group our house is free to use!
Cheers
Matt

That's really great, a place is a first step I guess :) Thanks for that!

But I think that 25 is too soon. I'll explain how it looked in my city:

First we made the flyers and distributed them all over city about the free weekly dinners.
We gathered a large group of people.
One "representative" managed to have a deal with greengrocers and market vendors of vegetables that when they have some food that is already too old to sell it out, but still not rotten and good for use, they give it to us.
And they did. It was actually a fuckload of food and most of that looked brand new.
We were meeting every Saturday at the house of one person and cooking together what we agreed on, drinking beers and having nice time :)
Next day - Sunday - we went to the previosly announced spot (every week the same place) and gave out the food.

How does it sound to you?
