Hi all,
I am planing to do an overnight hike in the Cathedral Ranges with some friends.

http://parkweb.vic.gov.au/explore/parks/cathedral-range-state-park

Camp at cooks mill on Friday
Next morning drive with one car to Nest gully, Hike along Needs gully track and ridge track to The Farmyard Camp ground.
Next Day hide everything near camp ground and explore the area climb some peaks in the area as wanted. Short stroll to the car and pick the second car up.

This is only for people with a bit of experience in hiking.
It will get cold over night and it may rain!
I may be able to get a bigger tend for 2 more persons.
We have a stove and pot.
All other gear has to be organised by your self.

Cheers Christian

Hi all,
It was a great weekend but we did only one half of the ridge (north).
Here some pictures:
https://plus.google.com/photos/102411963037812388339/albums/5768308362062027873?authkey=CLiSwNjhv-7kRA

I am keen to make the second one as a day trip. Only light luggage (water and some lunch) as the root I am keen on is half a climb.

Up on:
"Wells Cave Track - 30 mins - Very Hard
This track also climbs from Sugarloaf Saddle to
Sugarloaf Peak, the highest point on the range,
but is a more challenging approach. Avoid this
track if you are uncomfortable in high open and
exposed places. Not recommended for
backpackers. Recommended as an ascent
route only"

Then along the hill till Farm yard and back through the valley

I have space in my car for 4 more persons. We can camp out there for one night if people are keen. This is only for people with reasonable fitness.
