day trips Melbourne

Hey there,

I just arrived to Melbourne for my studies and I want to see more of Melbourne and surrounds. Which are daytrips I should definitely go to?
Or if someone is planning something in the next days and still have a free place I would be happy to hear from you! :)

Thanks for this Sandra. Yes! I would love to do some daytrips as well but I am not around for long. Best for me would be the 18th (tomorrow) or the 21st (Thursday). Can any locals please suggest something? I read up and it sounds like there are some good walking/biking paths around Philip Island and that the Kokoda Memorial trail in Dandenong Ranges National Park is a good workout. Any other advice would be much appreciated! Sandra - do you want to try to organize something for Thursday?

Hi. Mornington Peninsula has a pretty nice hiking track near the beach. Really nice hike and scenery. The only issue is that you may need a car to get there, unfortunately I dont have one.
Here is the link: http://www.visitvictoria.com/Regions/Mornington-Peninsula/Activities-and-attractions/Outdoor-activities/Walking-and-hiking/Bushrangers-Bay-Trail.aspx

Just thought I might throw an idea

Hi Sandra,
I may be driving out to St Andrews Markets with my couchsurfers on Saturday morning if you are interested. Depending on weather conditions. I dont like going out there if its too hot as there is a fire danger. Let me know if you are interested in coming along with us. You can google it as its very beautiful!!!!
warm regards
ps I'm very much into one day trips and I have a car....
pps The st andrews markets are about 40 minutes out of Melbourne.
