4 days Great Ocean Road, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island 21.10-24.10
Posted October 10th, 2013 - 4:47 am by from Dresden, Germany (Permalink)
Hey guys!

I'm going to drive from Melbourne up to Adelaide and back from the 21.10 to the 24.10.
1. day: Melbourne to somewhere
Visiting the Great Ocean Road and spending one night at a nice place in a tent.
2. day: somewhere to Adelaide
Drive up the rest to Adelaide, visiting Adeleide and spending the night in a hostel or couchsurfing
3. day: Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
Do some walks on Kangaroo Islands, sending the night there or back in Adelaide
4. day: Adelaide to Melbourne

Optional if it's not too much stress I'd also love to visit Flinders Ranges or the Lake Gairdner NP.

Expenses for fuel would be shared. Who ever is interested please send me a message.

Cheers, Olivia

Hey! I also have the Great Ocean Road to Adelaide in mind but later in early November. And also I'll be travelling with a small child, so not that relevant to you. However, I've been there couple of weeks ago, we slept in a tent in Lorne and and went as far as Kennett river. If you want to hear some experience on that just let me know. And may be you could later share yours with me :)
Are you planning to book campsite in advance? I'm afraid it is beginning to be quite busy, especially on weekends.

Cheers,
Olga

Hi Olivia!

Are you still going to Great Ocean Road?
I would be interested but do you know how much the trip would cost? And I don't have any accessories like sleeping pack or anything.. So I would like to know what stuff I'll need for this trip..? :)

Cheers,
Nita

Hi!
I know the trip is over, but I just saw that as well so I'm just posting to see if anyone else is doing the same in late November! I unfortunately can't drive ( they wouldn't renew my licence back home since I've been gone for too long!) but willing to hire a car and share all the expenses if someone is keen one day!
Let me know!!
bye bye !!

Hey guys!
Just to inform you: kangaroo island is about 250$ ans you need to book it in advance. We took the alrternative and drove to the Grpians insgead after the GOR. Probably kangaroo island is a bit overrated, but decide yourself and have fun in any case!

I've been to Kangaroo Island for a whole weekend and really don't think it's overrated. It's one of the few places where you get to see wild animals close-up. IMHO the original trip as stated here has a super tight schedule but that's just my two cents.
