My surfing skills are poor - I haven't been surfing for ages, but always enjoyed it when I went!

Good spots are along the Great Ocean Road, like: Torquay, Anglesea etc. and probably also on the right hand of the bay e.g. Mornington Penninsular(I think?!)

There is a group that organizes regular surf trips that I havent tried myself, but heared good things about:

If you have any infos/links etc. that are useful regarding surfing in Melbourne/Victoria add them here to this post!!

Well, I would really like to try it, but coming from a landlocked country (switzerland), I am somehow looking for a beginners group....

I don't know, can we somehow manage to make a beginners daytrip ? (preferable to the east, for me at least :-)

Wow. I wanted to join the club (waiting to get my wetsuit over) but that's really pricy.

You're better off spending all that money on a longboard for a beginner (instead of renting them)and get some pointers from experienced surfers on the beach. All you need for a good surf is 3-4 people(to have someone who'll look out for you and vice versa), a car, good waves!
