Hi Guys,

I am looking for an advice of how to get from Bangkok to Yunnan or to Sichuan (in a week or two)?

Thanks,
Talia

The slow and adventurous way is overland to Vientiane, Laos and then by bus to Kunming (that portion used to be around 70 USD the last time I looked in 2011) or by boat from Chiang Saen/Thailand to Jinghong, Xishuangbanna (check http://www.mekongcafe.cn/xishuangbanna%20china%20travel%20by%20boat%20to%20Thailand.html for timetable and prices) and then by bus to Kunming (prob. some 20 USD) - if taking the boat you would not need a visa for Laos (30 USD) as far as I know as you are not getting off the boat in Laos.

The fast way is by flight with China Eastern or China Southern. www.elong.net

AirAsia has flights to Kunming, but from Kuala Lumpur. There are flights from BKK to Chengdu/Sichuan!
