F for January

Hello everyone,

Since there are already plenty of CS events going on in December, and since many people are either traveling or busy with family & friends over the holidays, we have decided to postpone our letter "F" foodie event until January.

===

F for January.

Here is a list of countries that start with the letter F:

Fiji
Finland
France

After talking to a number of you at last month's foodie event, doing some of our own independent research, and speaking with various restauranteurs around town, it appears that all roads lead to France for January. ;) French cuisine, it is.

Now, everyone is familiar with French baguettes, croissants, crepes, cheese, and wine - the delicious staples of the French diet. So instead of going to a creperie, cafe, or wine bar, we'd like to try something a little different this time. For the January foodie event, we will eat a traditional French dinner.

Normally you're looking at well over $30 person for a full 3 course meal (appetizer, entree, dessert) at most French restaurants around town. But in the case of Baker Street Bistro, located in the Marina District, you receive a full meal for a fixed price of $16.50, without any compromise in food quality. More affordable than a cooking class at Le Cordon Bleu, that's for sure. ;) We've spoken with the owner of Baker Street Bistro and this seems to be a good option for the French dinner. Best nights to come are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Any other recommendations for French restaurants with good dinner and reasonable prices? Let us know.

As always, if you don't want to pay for a full meal and instead just want to join us for a glass of wine, coffee, dessert, soup...or whatever else fits your budget and appetite, feel free to stop on by. Everyone is welcome. :)

Cheers,
M & E
