H for March
Posted March 19th, 2009 - 12:50 am by from Berkeley, United States (Permalink)
Hi guys,

Thanks to everyone who contributed their ideas and input for our H for March foodie event. :)

Here is a list of countries/regions that start with the letter H:

Since many of you expressed interest in Hawaiian food, and since there aren't many specifically Haitian, Hungarian, or Honduran restaurants to choose from in San Francisco, we're going with Hawaiian for our March foodie event.

What is Hawaiian food exactly?

"Modern cuisine of Hawaii is a fusion of many cuisines brought by multi-ethnic immigrants to the islands, particularly of mainland American, Australian, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Polynesian, and Caribbean origins, and including food sources from plants and animals imported for Hawaiian agricultural use from all over the world." H for Hawaiian

Emmanuel and I were walking in the Inner Richmond on a lazy January afternoon, just poking around some of the markets and shops on Clement street, when we came upon Eva's Hawaiian Cafe, a casual, airy restaurant with good food at cheap prices. They even have some vegetarian options for those who aren't of the meat eating persuasion. ;) Apparently, Eva's is also pretty authentic as Hawaiian restaurants go, so this seems to be a great location for our Letter H event.

Join us at Eva's Hawaiian Cafe for the MMM Edition of our SF Foodies Dinner - H for Hawaiian on Friday, March 27th.
