Day Trip Out to Tijuca's National Park 'n Rio
Posted February 24th, 2009 - 12:49 am by from Niteroi, Brazil (Permalink)
We're goin' to an expedition to Tijuca's National Park next Wednesday, 25th February.

That would be cool as long it is the world's largest urban forest, covering some 32 km². Over there, we can enjoy the astonishing panorama with mountains, green, few animals (monkeys and others) and nature (waterfalls included...) surrondings.

Largest info about the spot here below...

My Idea is to meet around 12.45pm SHARP-FRENCH TIME in front of the Odeon Cinema in Cinelandia (just in front of Cinelandia Square, which means Cinelandia metro station), and then get the metro to Saens Pena. I advice you to eat something before it, cause it won't would be possible to stay waitin' for the latecomers, or for those are still hungry..... :D

Like that we'll be around 1.30pm in the Park to start our trekking (two EASY ONE tracks, once i'm not the Rambo or someone used to tough hikkings - i'm afraid i'm sorry but i have to tell you that...). So, afterwards, we'll reach two waterfalls, one in the entrance (Cascatinha Taunay), and another one after the trail (Cascatinha Veu de Noiva).
So, don't miss up this chance!

It's possible (take bath) in the second one waterfall (veu de noiva).
It's not possible to go swim into the waterfalls, 'coz there are lots of rocks and it's not deep enough,
but we can stay under the waterfall to refresh our bodies a little bit, after the hiking....

I think will take about 1 hour, 1 hour and a half of walking the entire path, but this is a guess.

We'll finish about 5.30pm or so on, and even afterwards we can go for a walk around in the downtown, maybe to go eat something, maybe to go DRINK (hehe) something, maybe just to chill'out. Sounds good?

I really do believe it will be quite a long day, but very rewarding, both for some exercise and for views; and moreover, don't miss the opportunity to rent more friends for free! hehehe. C ya folks!
