North Korea Trip 2012 - April or May
Posted November 14th, 2011 - 11:55 pm by from Rawcliffe, England (Permalink)
CSers,

I m planning a visit to North Korea for 3 or 4 days in April or May during the festival season...

Is there anyone else interested to join me ?

I still have to find out more details about the tour operators who can do some good offers,

If you have any advice for me from your travels, please share or suggest any tour operators,

T

Hello Tarun,

Who are you considering for a travel agent. I was there in September.

Hey T

As far as I know, there is generally four tour providers:

Korea International Travel Company (KITC)

They are the national travel company. No matter with whom you book your trip, you will end up with their guides and their buses. They don't have a website. But you can e-mail to get a quotation and information about the tour programme on: kitc1@silibank.net.kp

Korea Konsult

A swedish travel agency. http://koreakonsult.com

Koryo Tours

Another option. They claim to be the most experienced. http://www.koryogroup.com

And there is also a tour agency based in Dandong - just accross the border in China. But I don't have any contact information of them and they mainly focus on Chinese customers.

Good luck with your visa and have a nice tour.

Hi,

Just to add another option for a travel agency.

- Young Pioneer Tours (www.youngpioneertours.com)

Hi Tarun,

I spent 12 days in NK in September and went with Korea Konsult. They were very good and some (last minute) changes to the itinerary were possible.
It seems the bigger a travel agent (e. g. the more tourists they bring into the country) the easier it is for them to have special arrangements with KITC. Thus, Korea Konsult and Koryo Tours might be the best options (but probably also slightly more expensive than others).
Cheers

Jens

You should try Explore North Korea
They based in Dandong, China just next to North Korea.
They offer train ride from Dandong- pyongyang which is far more interesting than fly into North Korea.
