Hi !

I've watched at least 2 youtube videos of Pyongyang where there's some distinctive music being played in the background. Below is an example :

Can anyone please be kind and tell me what exactly is that music, and if it's some particular tune/song, what is it's name ?

thank you !

I was in Pyongyang September 1911 and never heard any sounds like this. Perhaps, it just added to the video.

I was in North Korea for eight days. The music on the first part of the video is not like anything I'd heard in the country, and I did make a particular point of buying a bit of music there. I do wonder if it has been added on afterwards, and that it is not from North Korea. It vaguely reminded me in style of Sacred Russian Choral Music.

The music at 4:38 and especially at 5:05 is similar to what I would hear some mornings playing through loudspeakers in the streets. The rousing choruses singing to military style tunes appears on North Korean television and is available on CDs throughout the country.

If you wish more of that music towards the end of the video, search for "The Korean People's Army Merited Chorus" such as on here:

The video seems to be gone. Is it the same music? I've been looking for it too.
