My English for your French!
Posted February 9th, 2012 - 1:17 am by from Winnetka, United States (Permalink)
Hey mtl language people!
Long time CSer, 1st time MTLer. I'm here in this great city for one month to study French. My mtl-CS friend suggested posting here to find a language partner. The idea would be to meet couple of times per week for a 1hr Eng/1hr French conversation! Somewhere near Parc Laurier or Mt Royal would be easiest!

I taught English in the far east for some years and did a lot of this kind of one-on-one work and was actually pretty good at it. Some people only wanted conversation, some wanted lots of corrections, some had me proofread documents for work, others brought magazine articles to have vocab/phrases explained and would then practice. I'm up for whatever!

As for me, I'm at an advanced beginner level and simply want a chance to speak more and receive a lot of correction. I'm afraid at this point my ability will make the French hour a bit boring, but thanks in advance!

Hi Emmet,

I'm french and I arrived two weeks ago in Montreal.
Your friend has right since speaking with people is a good way to practise language.
If you want we can meet, have coffee, have a walk or anything else and during that time you'll be able to practise your french and I'll help you if you have any difficulty.
In the same time, I would be very glad if you help me with my english..
