room for rent
Posted February 3rd, 2013 - 8:26 am by from Karachi, Pakistan (Permalink)
i apologize for not being a gora angrez and for not being a female. i need to rent a cheap room anywhere in upper Punjab including Lahore. Can be in a "low class" locality. Don't want to go to property dealers. So i thought about using this site, atleast on the face of it the people here claim (or pretend) to keep the real purpose of this site free from hypocrisy.

Just need to find some place for work but have to rest somewhere at night, yes? don't yet have the know-how of living in the street. maybe with time....

i can send many local and international references, recommendations. not boasting about it, but considering that i'm a poor Pakistani, therefore a prime suspect (of being an underling), so

i don't blame anyone. all part of the show. i just solve issues realistically, step at a time, according to the requirements established by the norms of society. i'm no one to challange the "norms". Please don't start a debate about these things. Just need some guidance about renting a room. That's all. Don't need advise or lectures.

I don't have my Own house in Lahore But i have been living in Lahore from last 5 years. there are No of Good Hostels in the Center of the City near Anarkali area those are very cheap but it depends weather u want to cook or not, because most of them are without kitchens. Well come to Lahore. I am not giving you advise or lecture!!! just want to guide you. I had been living in a Hostel Hudabia hostel it was at 7 mints walking distance from anarkali a peaceful and clean place to live, but again you cant cook there. Mostly rooms are available there,, Address is Hudabia hostel near jane mandir square, UBL bank street, 4A Liton road Lahroe. M not in Lahore at the moment! but if u are planning after 2 months I will be there to help you in a better way.

Mr. Nouman thank you very much for very helpful reply. For starters i'll have to take anything as soon as i arrive. It's better if i settle the room even before i arrive so that i won't have to be running around with luggage. I think the priorities should be safety, cleaness, washroom, in that order. Kitchen is good but if not available, i'll eat from hotels. Distance from center probably does not matter.

You mentioned two places, some hostels in Anarkali, and Hudabia Hostel. Please give me an estimate of costs, and phone numbers of both places so i can ask for directions.

Thanks so much. May Allah swt bless you. Jazakallah.

Faisal bhai I don't have any direct phone no. secondly you can not book any rental room in Lahore without your presence or at-least someone should be there to submit the deposit for booking. Because all rental rooms are provided on monthly basis. As for as it is concerned about the cost a single room rent on different places vary from 5000 to 8000 per moth (Excluding Electricity bill) as according to the condition of the room. All such rooms are with attached bathroom..unfurnished. So you should have at-least your own mattress. some of the people are also living there in sharing (If u like). So its better you stay at some CS place for at-least one day or cheap hotels (1000 per night) in the center (I think Yasir hotel in old Anarkali is better). All the best

Ok, i'll do as you say. I'll check the room when i arrive and pay. As for CS, you really think anyone will let me stay at their place, even if it's outside their house like garden, gate room etc? :) No use to even talk about it. But thanks so much for replying positively, very useful. Thanks!!!
