F is for Filipino is here!
Posted April 22nd, 2009 - 3:39 am by from New York, United States (Permalink)
Here is the event, my friends:

This is it! I will cook an authentic Filipino feast for all of you as my mother and my other relatives have taught me. I have a one bedroom apartment on the upper side so if enough people show up, we will eat in true Filipino style--sitting on the floor, using disposable plates and utensils.

Since I don't have unlimited space, I have to give special priority to those who indicated interest in the "F is for..." thread in the NYC Dinner Club group, as well as the surfers who will stay be staying with me, of course. A target of 15 people should be good.

But not only will we have a home cooked Filipino feast, this will also be the night of THE THUMB WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD! We will COLLIDE on the UPPER SIDE! It will be splendiferous!

And to help defray the costs of food and materials, a $7 contribution will be much appreciated.

I just found out today that my subletter flaked and is NOT helping me move my things to New York, as we agreed upon. I might be free next weekend, if I put my things into storage this week, otherwise, I will be in Boston moving while you all have yummy Filipino food.

Sounds good!
I'll be there. Thinking about getting brunch around 2, then maybe a nap, and then more food and drinks. My two favorite things.

Thanks for throwing this and cooking. What are some good things to bring?

All right, folks, we've hit the magic number so I've closed the event.

Since we'll all be fitting in my living room and most likely sitting on the floor, you can bring some kind of pillow, if you wish, to make yourself more comfortable. I may not have enough to go around.

And, yes, let's make this BYOB. Filipinos drink coconut milk, Sarsi (a kind of root beer), San Miguel (a kind of beer), kalamansi juice (a small citrus fruit) and whatever else under the sun. I'll be drinking water myself.

I'll send out my address soon.

Nicole, thanks for helping.

Katemari, I may be asking you for help, as well.

And Chi Chi, what's happening with out championship bout?
