I would love to find a Mongolian place. I know people love Moroccan and Malaysian, but thats old hat. Any other ideas? Mesopotamian (we'll eat with flint knives), Madagascan food, Muldovan?

Lets get some ideas.

I can't find a Mongolian place either. I liked your place, but there is no way we are getting there before 630.

So either there, or http://www.cafemogador.com

Wanna see which one can hold a reservation for 15?

I've eaten at Cafe Mogador and it's pretty good.
There used to be a really yummy Mongolian BBQ place on the Bowery called Daily Chow. Is that not there anymore? Unfortunate.

Daily Chow is closed. I haven't found another place.

Katemari, We can get 15% off if we make an online reservation (doesn't apply to the prix-fix). So we can go other times, and its still pretty cheap.

Whenever works for you. I may be moving that weekend, but whatever you want.

Though I'm new to the group, what about Maltese food? Theres a restaurant called Dolce Vita (181 Grand st) that claims ton be "the only Italian restaurant in NYC's 5 boroughs to feature contemporary/organic cuisine AND traditional Maltese recipes on one menu"

Dont want to complicate things, but Malay and Moroccan are wonderful, but more readily available. Too bad we cant find Mongolian food

Ooooh, restaurant week. I like this fancy-schmancy idea.

I'm really down for the Mongolian idea, but the only Mongolian place I can find is in NJ. If anyone can find somewhere, I am three votes for it.

Also...M...uhhh...Mexican?

Sorry everyone, I've been a bit overwhelmed so I'm going to pass responsibility on to others. I won't be around most of february.

Unfortunately, Village Mingala seems to have closed out of the blue. I tried to eat there a week and a half ago with another CSer and it was closed; since then the number has been disconnected.

I'd be up for some Moroccan or Yemeni food (though I think that's a stretch for M haha).

Could we do dinner on Thursday night (Jan 4) or Sunday night (Jan 7) at 8 p.m.?
