Notes: Litha - Summer Solstice
Led by Michelle Wright
Saturday June 20, 2009
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
During the Summer Solstice, the Sun reaches its peak in light and power before the year begins to wane. The Oak King battles his shadow, the Holly King and is defeated. The Goddess and the God are Lady and Lord of the Verdant Land. We feel that our vitality and energy are boundless and we experience a sense of oneness with the living Earth.
We celebrate this time through ritual to aid us in absorbing the light of the Sun to strengthen and fortify ourselves in preparation for the coming dark months and use shamanic journey to visit with the Gods, Faeries and Shadow self.
Please bring a candle in a jar (the tall 7 day candles in thick glass would work well) to charge now for your Yule altar. The color of your candle is your choice. (The candle has to be in a jar or similar tall, safe, fire proof holder that will easily contain the candle and flame, the greater magick of this will be revealed at the ritual.)
