Inactivity leads to boredom...

...so let's get active!

Here I am contemplating on heading up to the Brickhouse for the weekly CS Vancouver meet up tonight, but sometimes heading uptown just seems SO FAR AWAY... And I can't be doing this EVERY week either as I live on the (Island of) White Rock.

Fortunately, Troy took the initiative to start something up on this side of town, but sadly, no one went to the Big Ridge. Pour quoi?

Well, in my own defense, I didn't go because I didn't know about this new group (which, btw, really ought to be listed as a sub-group to the Vancouver Couchsurfers group so that other CSers could more easily find us).

Before we establish a weekly/bi-weekly event going, let's brainstorm and see what days of the week may work for the majority, along with a venue. Big Ridge is fine with me on any day of the work-week at 2000h or later. Somewhere along Marine Drive would also suit, though pay parking will come in play for those who drive. Ocean Park Pizza and Steakhouse? SouthPointe Starbucks (though always busy)? A quaint cafe at Crescent Beach?

I'm just throwing suggestions here, but I encourage the rest of you 11 members of this group to suggest a few others.

Just be sure to answer the following 3 criteria in your response to this thread:

-Possible day of the week
-Possible time of day
-Possible venue

Looking forward to reading your responses!

-Possible day of the week -->monday and tuesday are best for me, worst are friday and sunday
-Possible time of day --> 7 pm or later (might be able to do 6:30 but traffic usually sucks)
-Possible venue --> i think we should try all the pubs out in surrey/white rock each meeting pick a different place

jennifer, i see no problem in giving you a ride if needed

hope to hear from everyone in this thread and really hope to meet everyone soon

Always hard to say for weekdays as my work schedule is hectic. Mondays are a definite no. Saturday or Sunday is more probable...
Any of the venues suggested work well for me.
Look forward to the final decision.

Well, almost a week since my initial post and only a few responses. The rest of you must be too busy biting off more turkey than you can chew, thus inhibiting yourselves from voicing your own thoughts and opinions. Either that or too busy trying to cast a strategic vote in your riding to overthrow the wretched Conservative government. I will accept either excuses.

We'll see what comes down the shoot this week before taking action.

Troy,

I've never been a mod of a group on CS either, but from what I'd seen with another group here, the mod of one group simply announced that they'd be closing the group down and that all future postings should be posted on the other. In other words, I don't think there's a quick way to simply transfer one group to another like moving files from one folder into another.

I'm up for where-ever and whenever. Now that I'm done voting for the "wretched" Conservatives, I can spend more time on CS events :)
