Vaisakhi Celebrations!
Posted April 16th, 2010 - 8:02 pm by from Vancouver, Canada (Permalink)
Hi All!
So just thought I'd see if anyone was planning on heading to hte Vaisakhi Parade tomorrow! Apparently its the biggest one outside of India with lots of yummy cheap (or free) food and fun events!

\Where: The parade begins at the Gurdwara Dashmesh Darbar Temple, at 12885 85th Avenue in Surrey. Nagar Kirtan starts from the Gurdwara Dasmesh Darbar along 124th Street, turns left onto 75th Avenue, continues on 76th Avenue, onto 128th Street, then back to the Temple.

I'm not super familiar with surrey so I'm not sure what bus or skytrain station would get you the closest but would anyone know and/or want to meet up?

Hi Yolanda, I am pretty interested in going. I live in Surrey but not in this area and don't go there often. What time would you suggest going at?? I guess you would have to take the Skytrain to Surrey Central and get a bus from there??

Check translink.ca

message me with your plans :)

Ya I think that's probably the best. I think I will try to park at King George station and go in from there. If we want to meet up its probably easiest to do so either at King George or Surrey Central. I think I will plan on getting there between 11:30 and noon. I'll message you my number (and anyone else that wants to join up!)

Just a note,

Buses will be rerouted in the area, so I'd suggest taking the bus to the Newton exchange, from which it's about a 5 minute walk to the wonderful madness..

Enjoy the festivities :)
