Coming for my masters studies in Yichang
Posted October 4th, 2011 - 6:34 am by from Wuhan, China (Permalink)
Hello Csers,

I will be coming to Yichang in two weeks to do my masters in San Xia Daxue.
I will be first flying to Wuhan. Which is the convenient way from Wuhan to Yichang- Bus or Train?

I will be there for three years, and if possible I would like to teach English as a part time job. If anyone have some information then please let me know.

Hello Ram,
Welcome to Yichang!
It's very convenient to travel from wuhan to yichang.
Taking a coach could be cozier but more expensive, costing roughly 100 rmb. Fujiapo is where people usually take long-distance coaches and they leave for yichang every half an hour.
It will cost you around 50 rmb to take a train. I believe there are 4 or 5 options.

Thank you for the info Wang. Do you think I can get the ticket the same day? or should take it few days before?

yes you can definitely get a ticket for the coach
as for the train, it depends. mostly, it's easy to get one, except peak seasons such as long festivals.

Thank you!
I arrived in Yichang on Sunday.I will be staying in the foreign students dormitory of San Xia Daxue. I lived in Wuhan for Six years. So it was kind of hard for me in Yichang, as I know nobody and don't know much about the place. So I came back to Wuhan after two days. But I will be going back again on Sunday or Monday as I will have to attend the classes. :( .
I will be happy to know if someone could tell me about some interesting places around San Xia Daxue. And also about the local food.
