Hello Tim!!!

Sorry but is not our job checking your profile, is your job check the profile of the people you think is like you to live a great experience with CS.

Anyway..

Yo recibí de esta persona este inbox y sinceramente me senti atacado:

Tim to Sebas:
Really? You replied to my post just to tell me what my "job" is? That's a bit low, when it's obvious I don't have a host, and am still sending out DOZENS of PERSONALIZED requests anyway. I think it's best that, in the future, you don't have the audacity and cockiness to tell people what to do here, and how you think this community works.

That is not your "job".

-----

Creo que no estoy equivocado al decirle que no es nuestro trabajo chequear su perfil. Es muy probable que sea cierto que no consigue un couch, pero su forma de expresarse no fue la mejor diciendo "Check out my profile, and let me know if you'd like to introduce me to your couch :)" o si?

For you Tim, I never want to you takes this in wrong way.. I try to help you and I'll try to help you.. this group is not to couchrequest. I know how to use this website! I have the experiencie to use it, more experiences than you. I'm sorry if you feel bad.

See you and good luck in Argentina.

Sebastian.

About Me
Hola Pablo!

I'm currently in Bs As, and would love to get to know you and your couch while I'm around!

I've spent the past seven months on the road, city-hopping throughout Europe, and the US, and it's been quite the adventure!

I'm looking to set up a life for myself down there for at least the next six months. Therefore, I'm interested in making some good friends, and having a little help getting started out in the city, while looking for a job, and a place of my own.

Check out my profile, and let me know whether you think we'd fit!

Why I'd Like to Meet You
I read your profile, but I don't have too much to go on! I do trust, however, that that just means there's a lot more to learn in person! ;) you have great references.
I'm looking to make new friends, and get some help learning more about this city. Let me know if you'd like to host me!

I think Sebastian is taking the group too serious. You are not even the administrator or moderator of the group to tell the rest of the couchsurfers what to do or say and I believe there are rules set already by the moderator that we all must follow and one of them says.-

"Please primarily try to write in English AND Spanish for your posts. Post in one of the two if you are not comfortable with both" AND- "The idea of this forum is to be understood by people from abroad."

I perfectly understood what Tim meant on his post and personally if I was him I would have feel somehow attacked by Sebastian's post because I think Tim had nothing but only good intentions to have a awesome CS experience in YOUR country and what a bad image that he will have of argentines by you recieving him like with that "audacity and cockiness" as he said and I think he has all the right to defend himself.

Is not my duty to say what to do here or to tell you how bad argentine people will look to foreigners because I am not even from Argentina so I believe you, Sebastian, should chill a bit because your reaction to the post of someone who is willing to have a awesome time wasn't the best.

And Tim, Im sorry about this whole stupid thing. I would have hosted you but I am already full so I hope you found a place and you are having a good time.

Best regards,

Luis.

Oh my. I don't know where to start. I didn't anticipate for this to turn into the parasite it has become.

Since I am the subject of this witch hunt, I guess I should probably reply; given that it seems as though people here are trying to sabotage my chances of having a Couchsurfing experience in Buenos Aires.

First of all, the whole copy and paste thing is not deliberate. Anyone who uses the couch request knows that the first section describes the surfer's trip. My trip, and my plans for it, have not changed. So, I don't understand how that's a huge controversy! What I do change is the next section. I personalise that part, and to be honest, there is often not a lot to go on! Are there any takers who would like to copy and paste that here? There sure is a lot of that going on.

And for those who care, I've been all around the world, and it is normal practice to seek hosts in groups like this. It can be VERY difficult to find a host in a major city. I thought (and still actually believe, no matter how disparaging this has been) that members of this group would sympathize with this plight. Instead, it has become an ambush. This is disappointing.

Sebastián, I responded to you as most people would. Your reply wasn't necessary, and that was the first bad seed of these apples you guys have been on about. All I am is a lone gay traveler looking for not only a host, but real friends. Instead, it seems I have found the gossip mill. Sad face.

Carlos, please respect that surfers have to consider any possible risks attached to accepting invitations. I actually had to make a complaint recently to CS about a horrific experience involving sexual harassment. So, it's my prerogative to ask for references. Carlo, this was never personal. I'm sorry that you took it that way.

Pablo, that wasn't very nice.

Thanks to those of you who defended me. I wish it didn't become what it did! I've never had bad intentions here.

TIM OUT!

xoxo

What is all this shit? Come on guys!! This is FRIENDLY group!! If someone makes a mistake don't start attaccking him!! Is just a mistake...

I agree and disagree with some of you, but that is not the point! Please calm down everybody!

I talked to Tim and he is a very nice guy, I told him that his words were not correct, but he had good intentions!!

Why don't we all meet next Friday at the activity organized and discuss this personally? I think there is a lot to learn.

Pablo, we are meeting at Krakow, the bar you proposed on the first meeting of the group... you must come!!!

FRIENDLY besos y abrazos for everyone! :)
