Posted July 28th, 2011 - 1:42 pm by from San Diego, United States (Permalink)
I arrive to Rio in a few weeks and Id love to find a job teaching/tutoring English and even lessons in Portuguese!!! I have one month in Rio UNLESS I find a job, then I´d love to stay :-).

I am from USA, have a little over a year teaching experience in another country. I have my bachelors degree from San Diego State. I hope it won´t be too difficult to find a job there but does anyone have any sugguestions? Any schools or specific places I can contact?

Any info would be helpful, obrigada!!!

Hey Krissy!!!
Well, I think that you can find some schools which would love to have a native speaker as teacher, even it is just for feel weeks...
These are some schools that you can try to contact.

Have a good trip to Rio!

That's sounds good!!!
But as I said to you I don't live in Rio haha...I live in another state in a small town which is 400Km(Around 250miles) far from Rio...
I guess it will be easy for you to get a job as teacher because right now Brazilians need to know English... Much more than before, we are going to have many important events up here like the soccer world cup in 2014 and later the Olympic games in 2016...
Again if you want to see the countryside... You are very welcome here in my little town!!!
Lets keep in touch!

I would love to teach in SP. It is a place I find interesting and also I just adore Brazil ad its culture. I love Futebol and I want to come over for the Copa do Mundo da FIFA in 2014. :)
