Hey everyone,
I just joined this group, recently moved back home to the Boston area.
Looking for people interested in climbing this fall. Anyone is welcome.

Im looking to get up to Rumney for some sport, and bouldering in Lincoln Woods, RI, Hammond Pond too, my stomping grounds.

Iv'e got a rope, 12 or 13 draws, a few extra biners, crash pad, atc belay,
and some other randoms.

I have a car too which will help with getting there.

Let me know

Hi Alex,

Nice to hear from you. I am a beginner in outdoor climbing. Gone out to the Quincy quarries a couple of times. I loved it and I am looking to go out climbing more often. So if you dont mind having a beginner come along, let me know when you go climbing and schedule permitting, I would love to join you.

I'd love to get out and do some sport and bouldering! I'm starting to get cabin-fever in the gyms all the time. I've got a bit of experience climbing in LA and could help you set 5.9 leads (maybe even a 10a :) ) I haven't been outdoors since I moved to Boston, can you set most routes from the top or do you need to lead them?

I also have a number of friends who have been climbing for the last 6 months or so indoors and would probably be interested.

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been climbing in three years now, so I would be nervous like a beginner and probably out of shape. I used to go climbing about once a year in Joshua Tree, CA where my parents have a house 2 miles from the park.

That being said, if we were going as a all-levels welcome group, I might be interested in braving the rock once again. I still have my helmet and rock climbing shoes, so no reason not to try it (other than fear). Keep me posted on what you all decide to do!

Hey All!

I would love to go and learn about this amazing sport. Like others have said, if all experience levels are welcome, I'd like to tag along as well. Thanks!

Hey Alex,

It seems there is plenty of interest in going climbing. Many people have never been climbing, or don't have equipment, or (in my case) both, however. What day are you thinking of going?

That might narrow down the people who can go, and might allow us to work out equipment sharing.

Hi all,

I just got back from CO and went outdoor climbing for the first time and I am HOOKED! I've been indoor climbing before but it is definitely not the same! I think I'm going to buy gear this week (minus a rope), so if I do, I'm definitely down!

Is anything planned yet?

Thanks!

Hey Everyone.

Its good to hear that so many people are interested in getting out there. Im busy until sometime next week. Im thinking some afternoon we should meet up at one of the climbing gyms around boston, so we can all meet each other, and plan some outdoor trips from there.

If everyone could say what gear you have or if you don't have gear, that might help us arrange borrowing gear and sharing.

Shawn...
I'm comfortable with leading up to 5.10's right now.

I think that's a great idea, Alex!

I'll have a women's harness, carabiner/atc, chalk bag, and hopefully shoes...

I'm free week nights next week except for Tuesday...

If you guys ever do decide to take a trip up to Rumney, I'd love to join. I can't lead climb, but can top rope some .10a, though far more comfortable with .9's. Have my own harness, biners and what not, but no ropes. Tend to go to metrorock Tuesday nights in Everett if anyone is ever up that way would love to meet some new climbers, or if anyone has a day that they do like to go up and is looking for someone to climb with I'd love to get up there more often.
