Hey Leigh!

I just moved back to the States after a year abroad, and I was actually hoping to get into rock climbing here. I used to go climbing pretty regularly (haven't been in months though), but I still consider myself a beginner.

Want to check out an indoor gym with me to get started? If anyone has recommendations, please share with us!

You free during the day this Sat/Sun? Maybe we could go here: http://www.metrorock.com/index.html.

Hey!

Do you have room for one more? I am a total beginner, but would love to learn. If I could tag along, I'd be available to go some Saturdays and all Sundays. Thanks!

Hey Ladies!

I'd also be interested in joining - just got into rock climbing and bought a harness and some equipment... a little impulsive i know!

Anyway, I've heard metrorock is great and they have a ladies night every Monday night which is half off for the ladies... i've been saying i'm going to go for a few months now but it usually turns out that i'm beat monday night.

Boston Rock Gym in Woburn is also good, i heard it's not quite as big as metrorock but hey, i'm a beginner so i didn't really mind! it also has autobelayers so if you don't have someone to climb with you can still go by yourself. and best of all, they also have a ladies night for $1 every wednesday!

Let me know when you guys decide on, i'd love to join!

Would you ladies like to set up a time to get some practice in at Metrorock or Boston Rock Gym? I am game for Mondays or Wednesdays, I don't have belayer certification so Boston Rock Gym might work out a little easier for us. Let me know if your interested.

I would be coming up from RI, it will take me a couple hours to get there by train, I don't have a car. So I probably wouldn't be able to go anytime during the week because of work, but I'd be down for any weekend! I also don't have any gear, as I have never done this before, is that alright?

If you guys can go during the week, no worries about me! I hope you have fun! But if you end up going on the weekend any time let me know! Take care everyone.

Why don't we try this Wednesday 9/22 at Boston Rock Gym as Kayla suggested (since it's only $1, and they have autobelayers)? 5:30 p.m. work for people?

Does anyone know if you can get there via public transport?

I'll try to come earlier to get belay-tested and am happy to help train people if I pass!

@Alex, what time did you want to go Friday?

Just kidding. I forgot next Wednesday was the day of that Freakanomics screening. Woops! I already made plans to do that.

I'm also free Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. if anyone wants to try that.

I can't do Wednesdays because I'm taking a portuguese class but have fun if you guys do end up doing that! For people who aren't belay certified but have climbed before and know how to belay, you just tell them you need to do your belayer certification and you just show someone and they give you the okay.

Or have never climbed or belayed before i know metrorock has indoor classes several nights/week but because it's ladies night, monday is half off so it's only like $20/person for the class. You do have to call ahead because they tend to fill up i've heard. Most places (both metrorock and BRG) rent everything that you need if you do n't have any equipment.

Alex do you ever go outdoors around here? I've been wanting to get outdoors but I don't have a rope or anyone to go with, and I have wanted to learn how to lead climb and set stuff up outside. If you're willing to teach I'm a fast learner! Let me know

I know its short notice but I have Monday off work, would any be interested in doing any sort of climbing/bouldering/general outdoor activities? I live between RI and Boston so i am game for either one. Let me know if anyone is available!
