Hi, everyone. I'm new to the community, but I've been hosting my tail off here in Anchorage since I joined. I'm flying down to Las Vegas in August to bring up my long-lost Mini Cooper, will actually be on the road from the 3rd to the 8th or 9th. To make it a more entertaining ride, I'm going to pack my sister, her 9-yr-old son, and a toothbrush. I'm looking for couches, route advice, and things to do or see along the way. I'm leaning towards the "classic" route, up through SLC, Idaho, Montana, Dawson Creek, Whitehorse, etc. We will make quite a crew...my sister does spy games in Vegas for a living, and my nephew is in Cirque du Soleil's "Love." As for me, I'm pretty unremarkable (see my profile). Can't wait to hear what you have to say! Thanks for your time.
I had a great time at the Liard River Hot Springs - they're about 3 hours north of Fort Nelson. Seriously, some of the best hot springs I've ever soaked in!
Another great/neat place to stop is the Sign Forest in Watson Lake. I could (and did) spend hours there looking at all the signs.
Have a great trip, and don't forget your Milepost!
Thanks for the tips...we inadvertently followed your advice and visited all those place, although we had to view the sign forest through the headlights (it was dark by the time we got there). Don't leave home without that Milepost!
