Cancer Fundraising Party @ Eric's Place
Posted October 17th, 2008 - 12:25 am by from Montreal, Canada (Permalink)
Hey Everyone,

I decided not to post this on the main Vancouver group since I'm already expected a lot of people. But the UBC group is still pretty small, so I thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who wants to come.

Cheers,

Eric

Dear fellow fur-bearing mammals,

As some of you know, I've been planning on cutting my hair to donate to make a wig for someone who has lost their hair because of cancer. I shaved my head 4.5 years ago and have been growing my hair out ever since. I thought it would be fun to have a party to raise money for the cause. So come one, come all and let's celebrate our common bond as fur-bearing mammals (severe burn victims and those suffering from alopecia also welcome). Silly hairstyles are definitely encouraged, and for those hairy beasts out there this is your chance to shine!

I've been brewing lots of beer recently, so I'll have three beers on tap for the party (pale ale, stout and a Belgian honey ale). I'll be asking for a minimum $10 donation if you want keg beer, with all proceeds going to cancer research. If I can raise $1000 I'll shave my head!

Hey Eric,

I'm so sorry!! I can't make it. I have a ridiculous backlog of work to do and it's my sister's bday tomorrow so I need to allocate time for that. :(

Have fun though!

I won't be making it to next week's UBC CS meet either. Should we make them a once a month thing? I think it's midterm season too so it's hard for ppl to get out.
