Hiking/bouldering/climbing partners for September?!
Posted August 18th, 2013 - 3:47 pm by from Carlisle, England (Permalink)
Having left for so many years I finally have a month home in Hong Kong in September. Apart from family duties I'll mostly be free as a kite, trying to learn how to slack line, and being bored and itching to go climbing or hiking.

So, here you go, who's up for going hiking together? I tend not to walk on trails etc, and it's a bit too warm for me to go into the dry hills so I'll be heading into the streams, waterfalls and will be scrambling up wet, steep things most of the time. I've done a bit so don't worry about me being a novice. I'd like to explore the slightly more off-track streams, probably will involves a fair amount of climbing but won't go somewhere that you'll need a harness.

Drop me a message if you're up for going, the more the merrier as long as you can take care of yourself!

First one that springs to mind at the moment is Ling Fung Stream on Lantau, near Tai O. If you're a quick walker that can be tied in with Man Cheung Po, or one of the offshoots to make an absolute epic day out :)

P,S I'll probably be spending some time at a bouldering gym indoors somewhere too. Would be nice to meet fellow cs-ers at home after meeting all sorts around the world!

Hi, I am interested in your style of HK countryside exploration. Let's see if we could sort out a date to hike together. Or if I have any plan of stream trekking in September, surely will invite you to join.

First date I have in mind is the 30th August, which is a silly friday so you all will probably be at work. I'm probably preoccupied during weekends to spend some time with the parents.

凌風石澗is where I'm thinking of going on the 30th, if there are enough people and we're quick enough might extend it into a longer trip.
I'm struggling to find anyone who's not working anyway, but if any of you are free, who's in?

By the way, it'll most likely involve a certain amount of easy climbing and large amount of getting wet, you'll have to be able to take care of yourself and make your own decisions with regards to what you can, or can't do.

Stacey, are you in?
