Sorry my English is very bad, so I use the translator.
I lived in Patos de Minas for 10 years, today I'm living in Sao Luis - Maranhao, here in northeastern Brazil.
Patos de Minas is a beautiful city with a very nice and friendly people. I can say I know everything there, I have many friends who still live there too.
I have a childhood friend who is an active CS and in Ouro Preto - Minas Gerais, have heard of this city? It's beautiful, super touristy, still could not go there, but I want to go in January. She could introduce you to the city very well, but she attends college there and just back to Patos de Minas holidays.
If you would like contact with nature, I recommend the "Park of the Mocambo" and "Laguna Grande", are great places to stay calm, exercise and think about life. The squares of the city center, are beautiful, especially in times of festivals, such as "Fenamilho" (a party is typical of the city) and Christmas. There is also the "Exhibition Centre", where much of "Fenamilho" occurs, there is the "Museum of the Corn," where they are exposed clothing, utensils and other objects used in the past of that region. Around town, you can also find other Museums, Historic Homes, Theatre, Bowling, Cartódromo (lane carte), Pamonharia Aguinaldo's (a restaurant that is part of the culture and history of Patos de Minas), some cool bars, and if you like some nightclubs. Agredito you like to go there. You will when you go there? Will you do there? Will be where? Please contact me if you need anything or have any questions, I will help you.

Hi Dessi!

I was born in Patos de Minas, but nowadays I live in Brasília. But I still visit the city sometimes to see some relatives.

It's a good city, you're probably gonna like it!

When will you arrive? Where will your plane land?
Patos de Minas doesn't have an international airport (the one it has is small with less flights than usual), so you have some options to get there, for example:

- you could come to Brasília and then take a bus to Patos de Minas (it would take around 6h);
- you could go to Belo Horizonte (capital of Minas Gerais) and take a bus to Patos de Minas (around 6-7h, I'm not sure of the time 'cause I've never done that :)), or you could even take a plane, but it's really more expensive.

I don't know anyone there who's part of CS community, but if you need any help you can contact me!

Welcome to Brazil! :)
