Wanna be my New York guide?
Posted September 3rd, 2012 - 2:57 am by from Hicksville, United States (Permalink)
Hi! I just moved to New York (Long Island), and I have yet to explore Manhatten! Is there anyone out there who knows about nice vegan (or vegetarian) dining places, and would like to guide a new citizen to the area? :)
If you think it might be fun, just send me a message to get to know who I am ;)

I just moved by to New York myself (I'm a native, but I was living in Europe for the last 3 years and various parts of the US for years before that).

So, I'm also curious about exploring vegetarian places too. I live in Queens, so I can recommend some places and I already know 2 or 3 places in Manhattan.

Maybe we can get a group together for a meal. I don't know if you want to explore Queens as well, but we have some of the best places to eat (and much cheaper and diverse compared to Manhattan).

Cheers,
emily

Hi Emily!

I have just driven past Queens, so it sounds like a good idea to find out some more about that place as well. It would be very nice to gather some nice vegetarians and share a meal. We can see how many we can scraep together ;)

Anyone out there who would like to gather for a meal then? :)

Cheers,
Ole

Great. I have a vegetarian friend who's not in town right now. Once she gets back, I'll check with her and we can arrange something.

Hi everyone. I haven't gotten a hold of my friend yet, she went out of town again!!!

In the meantime, I'm going to this Veg Night Out event on Tuesday. Let me know if you wanna grab a quick bite nearby before we go.

@Ginabos: Damn, dude, I did not hear about that. Did you go? How was it?

@everyone: what days are good for you? Olaf, I think I will just plan an event without her and just see who can come.

Cheers,
emily

My apologies, Gina. I was too fast with my reply and just assumed you were a dude as an automatic assumption of an internet person. silly me. :)

Anyway, that's great that you want to join! I am also unfamiliar with the area (i haven't lived in new york in years). But I just checked Yelp and I think this should be a good place to meet. It isn't far from the Skybar. I hope this works for you.

HI Gina,

That place sounds really nice! Definitely looks nicer than Sandwich Planet, but it is a bit of a hike if we want to make it to the place by 7. I don't mind going, but we'll have to meet maybe 6pm instead; it's a 20-25min hike to the club (i don't have unlimited metrocard). I don't mind meeting at 6 and walking 20+ minutes. So just let me know since it looks like it will just be us 2.

(By the way Sandwich Planet has about 11 vegetaraian options, so I didn't think it was that bad. Am I wrong?)

Oh what the hey, i guess we don't have to be there exactly 7pm (i guess i forgot I am not in Holland), so 6:20 should still be fine if you want to meet at Terri NYC.
