Message to all dancers
Posted August 17th, 2009 - 9:07 pm by from Boston, United States (Permalink)
Hello everyone,

Firstly happy monday!!
Just wondering if anyone has plans to go out dancing this week or weekend coming up.

I also want to propose for all of us(who do go out dancing every now and then) to share our experiences, whether good or bad, share recommendations etc...

I have to thank Laura for keeping the group informed on a regular basis of parties/events and more, however, sadly, she will be leaving us soon. So it's up to the rest of us to keep this group going and even expanding. If not, then what's the point? Why have a group if there is no communication?

So let us communicate and spread the music!!

Cheers,

Ivan

How about Friday night? Sergio Vargas and Marcy Place are performing at LQ. Or we could try something totally different.

Ivan&Sarah, thanks for the message but as you can see, not too many people are wanting to make plans in this group. We need people to step up and post an event, be the contact person etc.

Hi every one,

I know it´s a bit late minute but I´m going to see a free concert by the bachata group Xtreme tonight at 7 at Highbridge Park in Washigton Heights.

Answer to this message or give me a call (9173121797) if you want to come along. Shorty, shorty... :)

Here is some info:

Tuesday, August 18
Presented by Partnerships for Parks
City of New York Parks and Recreation
FREE!

Xtreme Tuesday, August 18, 2009
From 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Highbridge Park
Concert

Xtreme was formed in 2003 when the label 2 Strong Entertainment came across the 17 year old Danny Mejia, and after many auditions, Steven Tejada joined the bachata group. With their music, the two young men speak to Dominican Americans by combining tipico sounds of the DR with the R&B that plays in the streets of New York neighborhoods. Any performance is sure to include sultry vocals backed by the flowing bachata beats.

Dates:

Tuesday, August 18, 2009 @ 7:00 pm

@Laura - It's a live salsa band but I'm pretty sure I've heard them mix it up every once in a while.
