Posted July 12th, 2009 - 8:38 pm by from Heinsberg, Germany (Permalink)
hi,
I live in Vienna and go to sziget by train from 10th to 17th.
Tickets available for 19€ for each direction at https://ticket.oebb.at/ .

I was at sziget the last years but unfortunately none of my friends like to go this year. I would like some companionship during the sziget festival so if some1 interested message me.

Hi!

Thanks for the tip! I'm planning to do a Europe trip in August and was wondering to go to the Sziget this year. Unfortunatly none of my friends can join me, as you.

It would be a pleasure to meet you there to have some beer.

Cheers
Jérome

Well, same here ;)

we should try to meet somehow.

You guys already got your ticket? Cos I unfortunately booked two tickets for the guys who canceled then, and now I need to get rid of them.

I'll be going to Budapest on the 7th and back on the 19th.

Hi there,
I opened this thread because I am travelling from Vienna to Budapest... and I see that you have two tickets? Are you talking about camping tickets for Sziget? If so, I have a friend who wants one, so if they are for a good price we would buy one!
Let me know about the ticket.. and see you at Sziget!!

Hey all
A group of us Australians bound for Sziget will be meeting up in Vienna hopefully arriving on Saturday (daytime) next week (8th).
We are hoping to spend Sat/Sun in Vienna and either arrive late Sunday or Early Monday to Budapest...
If anyone wants to meet up for some pre-Sziget partying or suggest a meeting point that we shouldn't miss in Vienna feel free to message me... only a week to go peoples!!!

Hey Antony,

I thought to do the same thing but still no couch surfer answered my request to surf a couch in Vienna. If I find a host there it would be a pleasure to take a beer with you and your friends.

Keep in touch

See u

Hey Sebastian - I am coming from Vienna as well. I tried this link to buy the cheap train tickets but don't see Budapest or any of the Budapest train station names listed under the destinations. What ticket did you book? Its in German, so maybe I'm just having trouble navigating the site.

I'll be at the Vienna Stammtisch meeting on Sunday evening, so maybe we can meet up there for a pre-Sziget drink.

Hi there u mates,

I m also trying to get to sziget from Vienna as the flights too expensive directly to budapest..do u think taking a coach instead of a train would be sensible ?

p.s I m arriving on 10th noon.. and have a tequila bottle with me :) lets shake Viennaaaaaaa :))

Ok - I figured out the link, and they are indeed $19 each way from Vienna to Budapest. Its only 3 hours by train, so why even try to fly? You'd spend more time checking in and getting your bags, etc.

I'm going to take the train in on Monday evening, probably the one that leaves an hour later.

Anyone who is in Vienna on the Saturday or Sunday prior to Sziget, there are 2 great events in Vienna those two nights. I can send you the details or you can find them on the Vienna group list as well -

Saturday = Castle Party
Sunday = Vienna monthly meeting at Badeschiff
