Vienna Calling 2009 - 10th Birthday of CouchSurfing
Posted June 6th, 2009 - 7:41 pm by from Vienna, Austria (Permalink)
Hello dear Vienna Calling attendees,

this meeting message will provide you with everything you need to know to find your way around Vienna and the many meetings during Vienna Calling. With that many attendants we can not answer all questions individually, so we we have collected all the necessary information on the meeting pages and in the Vienna Calling folder.

We would appreciate if you can find the information you need yourself on the website, folder or group and only use the phone or email in emergencies as we are really busy during the event. Thanks for your help.

HOWEVER: do not hesitate to call us (or better: email us in advance) about anything that has not been answered in the meetings pages, folders, maps or groups!

1) Meeting pages - why and where to sign up:

Most meetings have either a limited number of participants or require things to be bought in advance - therefore we need you to sign up for all the submeetings you want to attend.

Main Meeting Page: http://www.couchsurfing.org/meetings.html?mid=15310

Sign up for the main meeting and for all the submeetings you want to attend here.
Please keep in mind that some meetings happen simultaneously and you can't attend them all, so don't just join them all.

Especially for the Cinema & the City Night Tour, Registration on the Page is required!

Workshop page: http://www.couchsurfing.org/meetings.html?mid=35159

Sign up for all the workshops you would like to participate in. Again, some workshops happen simultaneously to other program points so only sign up if you plan on participating.

2) To make it esier for you
we prepared these three information pages - please print them out and bring them to the meeting:
- Google Map with all Meeting Locations: http://tinyurl.com/viennacalling
- Vienna Calling Info Folder: http://vienna-calling.net/files/folder.pdf
-Vienna Calling Organizers Phonelist: http://vienna-calling.net/files/phonelist.pdf
(these numbers will only be reachable from the 9th till the 14th of June, if you have any questions before send us a CS Message or ask in the Vienna Calling Group)

3) Admission Fees:

The admission fees are:

Vienna Calling 2009 Wristband: 6 € (includes fee for BBQ on Thursday & Sunday, Entrance Fee for the Party, a Map and a small gift) - available in limited quantities only from Thursday onwards

Single Day Passes:

4) Shops are closed on Thursday and Sunday:

5) If you arrive earlier:

http://www.couchsurfing.org/meetings.html?mid=19682

6) Getting around in Vienna:

For Info on public Transport & Tickets check:
http://wiki.couchsurfing.org/en/Getting_around_in_Vienna

7) Last minute information and changes

We will communicate all changes/updates/news on main meeting page http://www.couchsurfing.org/meetings.html?mid=15310 and in the Vienna Calling group http://www.couchsurfing.org/group.html?gid=16449 - please keep an eye on them!

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for the info. Excellent organization!

About the wrist-bands: "available in limited quantities only from Thursday onwards". I am arriving Saturday morning. Could you tell me if the wrist-bands would still be available at that time. Or can I reserve one? I would be a shame to miss out on them.

Hello,

the Wristbands will be available (300 of them) on the Base on Thursday.
If there are still some left, you can also get them on the Base on Friday and at the Ambassadormeeting.
Maybe also on Saturday ... but hopefully by then they are sold out :)

Everyone who arrives later and doesn't get a Wristband, you can still get "DayPasses" for the Vienna Calling Meetings :)

Hello,

well the vienna-calling.net Site is empty, but these 2 links should work.

If they don't, you can send me your e-mail adress and I will send these documents to you.

Ok. DayPasses are fine. But it wouldn't be fair to exclude those coming later, during the weekend (like me)...

But actually I'd really like to reserve a wristband. Also as souvenir. ;-) Are you ok with that, Stefan?

Ciao Stefan,
I arrive on Friday for the Ambassador-Meeting. This is a very central and important event!!!! So it is not possible for me to go first to the Base. After the meeting it is also too late to go to the base. The consequence: I don't get the Wristband as a souvenir and you get more trouble to collect the 2,-- EURO before the following events.

Get the best.

Hello,

you can go to the base after the meeting.

Sorry, but we only have 300 Wristbands available ... but maybe we can also reserve one for you.

Actually I'm overwhelmed that People care so much about them ... maybe we should take pre-orders? :)

6.50 € via PayPal for your Vienna Calling Wristband :)

Just kidding...at least for the moment :)

Hey Stefan, Birgit,

Of course I want VIP entrance. Will you put down the red carpet for me and guide me in by your hand? :P

I like the idea of wrist-bands a lot and like to keep one for memory's sake. So yes, please buy one for me. I do not particularly care paying a few Euros more.

I'll see you at the base or the workshops on Saturday.

Thanks!

Still makes much sense to buy a Wristband on Friday ... as Birgit said:

-) VIP Entrance to the Party, no need to pay/check that you're a CouchSurfer and so on
-) Free Entrance to the Afterparty
-) It's a great Souvenir
