BBQ Thursday Organization
Posted June 9th, 2009 - 8:40 am by from Vienna, Austria (Permalink)
Hey People,

this Thread should help to make the BBQ on Thursday even better.
Please everyone post what you bring to the BBQ (well except your own food & drinks), so that we don't have 100 People bringing Ketchup and only 1 Person bringing Mustard

We provide:
- Coal & everything else needed to make a fire
- Plates, Napkins
- Plastic Forks & Knifes
- BBQ Plates (these aluminium things that you don't have to put your stuff directly on the roast)
- Bread

What should you bring:
- Ketchup, Mustard, other Sauces (Chilli, Coktail, ...)
- more Bread (we don't yet know how much we will get ... lil bit more can never be wrong)
- Salads, Tsatziki, ...
- everything else you can think off ...

And some non-food stuff:
- Music Instruments
- Games
- ...

So invade your hosts kitchen, make a nice salad or a good Sauce, or invade a Supermarket and bring something ... and then post it here :)

I'll bring mustard and some bread (for 8-10 ppl)..

The supermarkets will be closed on Thursday, right?
Maybe someone has a list of stores where people can buy groceries that day?
Probably Billa @Praterstern will be the best alternative?

i'll bring some Chinese cabbage. -the one with the big leaves - cause you can use them as edible plates - much better than ugly paper plates

On the meeting base it says:
>A free drinking-water tap is close to the BBQs (but we don't know anything >about it's condition).

that tap delivers absolutely fine water
the only issue it has: its an idiotic designer piece -take care not to get your shoes wet!

We will transport Water in Canisters from the tap to the BBQ place and there we will fill your Cups with it ... Service that you don't get your shoes wet :)

Snacks like Chips and so on would also be great ... :)

And another Information:

Tomorrow is a public holiday. Due to that shops are closed. (ok you hopefully know that by now)
Today supermarkets have longer opening hours, most of them till 8 pm.

Hi!
Within reasonable amounts (i.e. what I can carry in me hands) I could do some shopping tomorrow up to the last minute...

I have access to cheap & good alcohol and meat (frozen), I'm probably buying stuff around 6pm and then coming directly to the BBQ.

So PM me or text me up to 17h30 and if not overwhelmed by orders I'll happily bring you stuff...

See y'all.
A.

PS: I of course intend this more as a service to those coming from far away and stuck in Vienna's lack of 24/7 than as a 'personal shopping service' for the Viennese... :)
