Privet everyone
I'm planning to visit your interesting country in July and I've hosted someone from Minsk already and helped few others.
I'm curious about culture ( especially music , movies but also books ). So I'll be glad U tell me artists U like , it can be in any style as I like almost all styles ( even though I love rock ) and it would be also great if U would know some places where I could buy vinyls in major cities from Belarus , and so the capital .
U can write me things U like here : olomouc1972@gmail.com , as I have time from now , I'd like to be in touch with different people.
Merci/spassiba in advance
Carlos , french by accident ;) , ( and moderator )

Hi, Carlos!

I recommend you the Belarusian rock band Litvintroll. You can listen it for example here http://www.lastfm.ru/music/Litvintroll. They play rock with folk style and use some Belarusian national instruments. They also use Belarusian national lyrics and write own songs with ancient motifs.
As for vinyls it will be difficult to find something in ordinary shops. You can try visit our flea market, which is situated in the suburbs as a part of Zhdanovichi market (Ждановичи) in Minsk. Some old Soviet vinyls are there. However it must be difficult for you to find that place yourself. Sometimes locals easily stray there, really))
If you have some question, just write me.
Have fun!
Cheers, Lena.

Spasibo bolchoï Lena ;)
Except the fleamarket , are there some second-hand shops where it's possible to find some vinyls ? I'd like also to find some CD which would be easier ;)
I'll check out the link U gave me , what about famous good belarussian authors ? I don't know if U can recommend me something . Any idea is welcome ;)

Now I know two shops with vinyls:
Подземка (Underground or Podzemka), that's near metro station Ploschad Pobedy (Victory Square), there http://podzemka-minsk.by/contacts.html;
and the second shop is near metro station Plosha Yakuba Kolasa (the next after Victory Square), it is situated beside the embassy of Latvia into an underground tunnel.
CDs are also sold in Podzemka. You can ask there Belarussian musicians, listen it and then make a choice on your preference. I think it will be perfect)

Have fun!
