Quebecer visiting Belgium soon :-)
I am a Quebecer, also known as French-canadian. I will be visiting Belgium in March for a few weeks, and am looking for some passionate locals to hang out with. I am a beer lover, and needless to say I really love Belgium beers.
I haven't planned anything yet, guess my route will define itself an the way. If you'd like to meet, I'd love to discover Belgium through the eyes of the locals, which is the best way to discover a culture, to my opinion. Lots of incredible CS experiences back then, much more to come!
If you are a beer lover and especially a Belgium beer lover, I advise you to test Vaudrée restaurants where you can find several hundreds of beers. Most Vaudrée restaurant are located in the region of Liège.
You can also find the same concept in Brussels with the Delirium Café.
And the final advise is of course to visit directly a brewery ;-)
Have a good time in Belgium!
my boyfriend and I are *normally* going to Canada later this year, so it would be nice to hang out with a Quebecer. :-)
Have you already got a place to stay ?
What time will you be in Belgium ?
Don't hesitate to send me a PM if you're interested in meeting us.
Feel free to send me a message when you're in Belgium/Antwerp! I really love Belgian beers as well, haha.
Hey Jonathon! I studied in Sherbrooke in 2011, and am now living in France on the border of Belgium (little village called Givet). Let me know if you're going out on a weekend because I usually go up to Belgium. Would be great to meet you and compare belge & Québécois beers!
Wow nice! This weekend I will spend in Dilbeek, not so far from Brussels. I'll be couchsurfing, so we cann all meet and go for a fine belgian beer (or ten). How does that sound?
If you'd like, you can visit Leuven and I'll guide you around. I'm currently living and studying in Germany, but I'm going home to Belgium (Leuven) between 17 and 31 March. I love to speak French and German, definitely the québécois, because it's much more understandable then some French accents, and all Canadians I've met were utterly awesome :D!
In Leuven you can visit the stella artois brewery. However I think you have to reserve in advance.
I can show you around the city, in one day you can see everything and we have enough time to get a beer in some of the students cafés where the beer is much cheaper then for example in Brussel or Brugge.
Tip: visit Brugge and Gent, the ardennes (if good weather)
This is also a nice small bar with about 600 different kinds of Beer.
