Hey all you fans of SIS - does anyone really know where that houseboat is actually located? I was told it's in Westlake but search up & down to no avail.

Oh you guys cracked me up. I'm amazed how many of you had no clue what SIS is nor what you're joining up in regards to. Well to save time:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleepless_in_Seattle

Yes I knew it was up for sale when I first visited Seattle last year. It was the price that peaked my curiosity. $2.5 million!? So I began the search (on land).
Now they said, "the world-famous "Sleepless in Seattle" House Boat is docked off Westlake Avenue on Seattle's Lake Union". But which part of Westlake Ave?
Alas time ran out and I had to leave. Now I'm back for another try. And I was doubly surprise that none of you SIS members knew exactly where it was!

Take a look at the picts & videos. Maybe you'll spot something familiar and clue me in. Pay attention esp. to the backgrounds & surroundings:

Also to answer another curious question: Yes we have a CSer with a houseboat here - but I don't want to release the name publicly (so as to respect their privacy and safety). Just do a search - you'll find it.

PS I'm also looking for hosts in November if any of you are willing and available.

Hi,
I live in a houseboat on Lake Union in Seattle. They are not really houseboats but are floating homes. Unlike real houseboats we don't have motors, and the city requires a permit before we can move them which happens only rarely. The newer houseboats are large, sometimes as many as three bedrooms. Mine is fairly small, just one bedroom and one bathroom. The houseboats are hooked up to the city sewage system and to city water, electricity and in many cases, including our dock, to natural gas.

It is not at all like living on a boat except that you are surrounded by water. I have a full-sized washer and dryer, freezer, dishwasher etc. It is a delightful way to live. I have an end moorage so I have great views. It is very quiet here this time of year but in the summer there are lots of float planes taking off and landing, party boats etc. But houseboaters are pretty courteous to each other and we keep our music and most of our noise inside our houseboats except on special occasions.

The 4th of July is a huge deal here because the fireworks barge is directly in front of my houseboat. It's a great party.
